Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThis hotel is excellently located in a beautiful area of the city very close to the Place Vendome. The service in this hotel was exceptional and the best Mandarin oriental that I have ever stayed in. Nothing was ever to much trouble and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy with everything from check in, drinks in the bar, remembering our names, outstanding breakfast again with great staff. A particular mention to the door staff who remembered our names and what plans we had for the day, even taking our shopping to the room for us. We will definitely be back!

United KingdomNothing really. We were very disappointed when the room cleaning personnel took our chocolate Eiffel Tower which we had only started to eat. We were out when they came to the room so obviously we couldn't stop them.
Staff, from check in through every facet were extremely friendly and efficient. Special thanks to Astrid who checked us in, took us to our suite and ran through the equipment and facilities with us. A very nice bottle of Champagne was waiting for us on arrival in the suite.The location is great, a short walk from the Louvre. The concierge personnel were very helpful and keen to help in any way they could. In room entertainment is all Bang and Olufsen. That speaks for itself. Truly a Five Star experience.

United Kingdoma five start hotel like MO should have the basic standards in place: Heatning for towels is not to be off, tv is to always work, phone is to be answered or at least call back in a reasonable amount of time. Why do we call the balcony ‘a terrace’ ? All in all it is a great hotel but not a great value for money!

Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Paris was, as usual for the hotel brand, exceptional. From the kind gentlemen at the entrance to the welcoming staff at the reception and concierge desks, the service was truly excellent. The cleanliness, location and service was the typical brilliant standard for MO.

GermanyThe property is dated and dirty. The rooms are badly designed, the interior design makes no sense and the proportions of the room are not convenient. The rooms aren’t soundproof, meaning you hear everything outside of your room. The breakfast selection and food quality are mediocre at best. The staff don’t know what the Mandarin Oriental brand is about, or how to run a five star hotel. Room service is pathetic, both in etiquette and selection. While we were compensated for the endless shortcomings of this Mandarin Oriental, our stay was still unpleasant. Money can’t make up for an unpleasant stay.
I liked the discount we received for our horrific experience.

The house keepers don’t understand you and when cleaning the room they took my Tax back form and my sons new Hunter wellies, along with an expensive bikini bottoms. The hotel pool is poor and no one is ever in it because there is no where to relax and lay down round it.

HungaryWe arrived past the normal check in time and our rooms were still not ready. The staff didn’t seem too bothered about it, like it’s normal, which was weird in a 5-star hotel. The F&B outlets are horrible. We had breakfast at the Camelia restaurant every morning, it would be a joke even in a 3-star hotel. Service is incredibly slow, they forget about bringing you items that you order (don’t worry, they don’t forget about adding them to your bill!), restaurant was half empty most of the times and they say they are fully booked, come back in half an hour! Staff in this restaurant seems to hate their job and the customers. The bar is not much better either, they mixed up our orders and generally very slow and unorganized also.
Great location and beautiful hotel. Spa treatment was amazing and gym is nice too!
