Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I really enjoyed my one night stay at the Auberge de Chrissay. I was met with a warm welcome and shown to a very comfortable, well appointed and clean room with stunning views over the Loire Valley. The auberge is located in a beautiful village with very interesting buildings and an old church. Well worth spending a bit of time exploring. The evening meal can only be described as exceptional and breakfast was also excellent and good value for money. Overall, an excellent stay with super friendly and welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend

United KingdomNo air conditioning so open windows meant flies in the bedroom. Very quiet small village but there was a surprising amount of traffic on the road outside our room. Very limited hours for check in/out,breakfast.
Amazing views from the room and the best meal we have had during a 4 week stay in France. Lovely people!

United KingdomVery good location for an overnight stop. The hotel had lovely views, had lots of character and was on the outskirts of a very old, attractive small village. The evening meal was of extremely good quality and would definitely recommend to those looking for somewhere to stay en route.

United StatesThe stairs to the rooms were difficult to negotiate for my husband. They are carved into the stone of the hill behind the restaurant part of the hotel, very uneven, circular and steep with marginal handrails. Wouldn't recommend it for older people with mobility issues. Our cases were carried up for us, but we still had to negotiate those stairs a few times a day. The hotel closed down after lunch until later in the afternoon, so early check-in is not an option.
The owners were very friendly and helpful, even making me hot lemonade for my sore throat. Our room was pleasant and bright and the restaurant had a nice breakfast area as well as a very attractive dining room. There was also a nice grassy area shaded by a tree for outdoor dining affording a beautiful view across the valley. A very good buffet was offered in the morning.

United KingdomWonderful quiet location. Beautiful views and the added bonus of a swimming pool. We received a warm welcome and the evening meal was fantastic, sat overlooking the countryside and a field full of sunflowers. Great local produce on offer for the buffet breakfast too. Beds were super comfy and everything was very clean, with ample space. Fantastic night’s sleep after a long day of driving from the UK. A great stopover on our way to Spain in a stunning traditional French village. We would definitely return.

Quiet and peaceful castle gem at a small village 10 kms from Azay Chatêau du Rivau and Azay-Le-Rideau castles so very convenient to stay for a night. Plus, the food at the restaurant and petit dejeneur is amazing and fairly priced. The owners are very gentle and the room was spacious and the bed really comfy.

United StatesRoom was maybe a bit far from the parking (we hade large heavy luggages) but everything was great. Felt a bit expensive for the area
We booked a triple room (good for 4) and it was really spacious (on 2 levels}. bathroom was also large. Beds were comfortable. we loved the outdoor seating area and the pool (not enough time to try it) it was a hot day and even though we are used to AC we were fine by leaving the windows open and the air flow through Hosts were great and offered a delicious breakfast.

United KingdomThere was absolutely nothing we didn't like!
An exceptional holiday made possible by truly wonderful Hosts. We feel so privileged to have stayed at The Auberge de Crissay. Please do not pass this amazing family hotel without staying! The breakfasts were delicious and the evening meals sat out overlooking never-ending fields of corn and sunflowers which gave us the opportunity to taste many locally sourced ingredients were so good (especially the goats cheese from just down the road and the wine!) The rooms were beautifully clean and discretely maintained each day. The view from our room was wonderful and the added bonus of being able to jump in a fantastic pool after a day out in the car was a huge bonus! The pool is well fenced with a lock, so very safe for children. You will need a car to visit the local villages and chateaus which are all within easy driving reach but equally there are some easy walks and the village of Crissay su Manse is stunning. Mark & Severine we thank you for looking after us so well and we will be back!

NetherlandsAll fine.
The auberge has plenty of atmosphere and great views on both sides, at the front towards the rolling fields and at the back towards the remains of the castle. The rooms give access to a large common terrace and a very nice and shady garden. The pool also looked appealing although we did not make use of it. Our stay was in the midst of a heatwave, but a ventilator and open windows made it quite bearable during the night. We enjoyed a lovely dinner outside. Great views, very good cooking, even for vegetarians! Sévérine really made us feel at home.
