Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you are happy to accept hostel accommodation for what it is then it’s fine. Comfortable beds, basic but clean. Showers ok. We had a family room which was 2 rooms one with bunks and one with twins. Bunk room had only a basin in with toilet and shower in the other room. A lot of stairs to the third floor.
Great location near to lots of places to eat and drink and short walk to Sacre cour.

FranceWell, we had the 5th floor on stairs (no lift in the hotel) so try to ask to have a lower level if possible with their availability; we were on the court side, there is a primary school there, so just be aware of that! (we were there on a week-end, so it was ok, and i guess you don't stay much during the day in the hotel, so it could be ok); Rooms are basic, clean, but oldish.
Location is nice (next to a metro station & a direct Bus line to the center of Paris, number 85)and price is very good for Paris; I guess that's why we all choose it. Despite the oldish rooms, i will come back because of the price and will ask a lower level.

BelgiumWe had ants in our room sadly :( and there is also no elevator, so it sucked to be on the fifth floor. The shower was strange, turned itself off again after 10 seconds and it was really annoying finding the temperature. Walls are paper thin, sometimes sounded like people were entering our room.
The room was nice for what it needed to be, a place to sleep. We had a balcony, which was very nice. The staff were very friendly

United KingdomThe first room we went had no hot water and we had to use to common bathroom for a shower on the first day. We were able to change rooms after the second day.
Most staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is very good, close to the Sacre Coeur and a Metro station 3 min walking distance. Breakfast was basic but good value for money. Breakfast is served until 10am but I advise you to get there at least 30 min before or you'll get the grumpy look.

I liked the value for money, the fact that it is a 24h check- in and the location.

SloveniaOverall cleanliness was not perfect, water was draining slowly from the sink and there was some mold in the shower.
The room was spacious and met our needs (resting after exploring Paris). The bed was relatively comfortable. It is a good and cheap option for families. There are two metro stations close by which makes access to the city very convenient.

LuxembourgThe walls were too thin. I could hear people walking up and down the stairs, I could hear everything happening outside (outdoors), and I could hear my neighbors. Also, the fire alarm went off really early in the morning, but it was a false alarm and it took way too long for the alarm to stop.
It was in a good location and the price was decent. Good for a short trip if you're not spending much time in the hotel itself. The bed was comfortable.

HungaryThe place had a problem with the doors, so we had to ask someone to open our doors everytime we came back. It was a little annoying but hopefully they have fixed that since we were there. Lots of people dont like the breakfast it was alright for what it was.
The location of the place is unmatched. The Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge is in walking distance. The metro + bus stations are less than 5 minutes away. The breakfast is the same everyday, jams, cheese, croissant or pan au chocolat and baguette. Even if its not very varied, the food is plenty, we were never hungry. And the baked goods are always fresh. Also, we bought some vegetables and ham in the supermarket and they let us put it in the fridge, so thats a vakid solution if you want something else for breakfast. Our room and bedding was clean. The stuff were very nice and kind. All in all, it was ok for the price.

South AfricaObviously, this being a hostel type environment the accommodation is expected to be cheap, however the rooms and facilities were far from what they look like in the pictures. Rather avoid the location and spend a few extra euros on a better room somewhere else.
Probably the only positive was the price. Very cheap... But sometimes it's worth spending a few extra euros for a better room.

United KingdomHave to walk up/down the tiny and very narrow stairs 5 floors (no elevator), not have even a wee wardrobe or even just a bar to hung clothes, specially when u stay longer than just a week end, a beside table or just a stand, something... on both sides of the bed, a small TV screen on the wall will be great, especially when u already have the connections and even the cables hunging on the wall, so it looks like it has been replaced into another room...Not a change of towels, at less twice in 4 days.., no extra pillows availability in the room (the ones provided are clean but like flat cushions...)

LatviaWell, the bedding was a tad bit dirty, with some spots on it, we couldn't open the toilet door completely because the room was just so small, also, we could hear EVERYTHING happening outside our room, in other rooms or in the hallway, so that was a biiiig minus for us.
The location was nice and was not too loud outside, the view was okay. The beds were comfy enough, no problem with that. Also, the staff were amazing, the let us leave our bags so we can explore the city before the check - in.
