Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceIt was not very clean in the room. I found a lot of hair, including on the towel. Poor sound insulation between floors. When someone upstairs took a shower, it seemed like the water was pouring right onto the ceiling.
Very nice place. Beautiful and large territory. Nice staff.

AustraliaThis hotel had a lot of French charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurants were superb. The hotel amenities were above expectation. The spa was fantastic. We stayed an extra night because the hotel was so wonderful. We cannot wait to come back again!

SwitzerlandI would have given it a 10 straight away, but as we set great store by culinary delights, we missed the variety during our five-night stay. The hotel also stands out because of its great restaurants (one even with a Michelin star!!) and the food was also delicious, but if you stay five nights, you have little choice and have tried practically everything in two days, as the menu has very little choice. Especially in a hotel like this, where you like to stay, it would be even nicer (you like to be comfortable in a hotel like this and enjoy it without having to organise anything) to have a varied cuisine. We had to organise lunch especially well and many restaurants were closed at the beginning of the week. So it was a lot of organizing when it became to food. Nevertheless, the staff gave us always tips for good restaurants in the area and made all our reservations. So all in all, what an amazing hotel! We‘re for sure coming back, this was a one of a kind experience! Thank you for everything!
We stayed at the hotel with our young dog and the three of us felt very welcome at any time. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and are happy to run the extra mile for their guests. You can tell that the team is passionate about what they do, everything is well thought out. The architecture is absolutely magical and unique. Great rooms, great facilities, great spa, great food. Everything was just perfect. This hotel and team really think of everything to make sure you have the best time ever and the location is great for excursions.

This Relais & Chateaux property is magnificent! The lobby of the hotel occupies the former chapel at the convent and the space is stunning. Our rooms were incredible. The hotel has recently been renovated and it is spectacular. Breakfast was included in the rate I had booked and it was wonderful. Hotel has a L’Occitane Spa which was amazing. I cannot use enough adjectives to describe this phenomenal establishment. WE WILL BE BACK!

United KingdomImprove the variety at breakfast. Slightly improve the service to reach true luxury level. Introduce head stands for the shallow part of the main pool. Chance the "do not disturb" sign (the tend to keep the door from closing".
The resort is fantastic, both the rooms and the commo areas. The spa has everything you might want. Everything is incredibly well maintained. Food is great in both restaurants.

AustraliaThe only thing we could fault (and it's a stretch) is that the Bistro could have more variety in the menu, as if you are staying here for more than a few days you may get tired of the same meals. Suggest adding some seasonal daily specials to keep things interesting!
Everything! The facilities were particularly incredible, with a huge spa. We were blown away at this hotel and honestly, was one of the best we have ever stayed at. We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon and no other hotel lived up to our experience. Special mention to Adrien, who was exceptional during our dinner at Le Feuillée* - a highlight of our honeymoon and worth every cent! The room was picture perfect, with the décor being a highlight.

United KingdomIt could be argued that a few of the rooms are located in a less preferential area, ours happened to be located toward the rear of the property, opposite the outdoor bins, and where lorries stationed for deliveries. Fortunately the room itself was absolutely gorgeous, and a very generous size, but it is worth noting for anyone who may be staying longer.
We loved the interior design, the architecture of the building, the staff who were all very approachable and super friendly even leaving my partner a little birthday message in room, and equally the buffet breakfast, which although remains largely the same each day, is a great spread, which can suit a variety palettes across a number of days. The spa facilities need very little introduction, just superb.

ItalyThis hotel is a true 5-star hotel from all the points of view. Starting from the staff that greets you to help you with your luggage to the girls at the front desk, a courteous and very elegant young staff. The check in process was very pleasant, as in the best hotels. The hotel itself is a gem, wonderful lobby, beautiful pool and garden, magnificent spa. The rooms are also beautiful and comfortable. Good breakfast and great bistro. Without hesitation I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

The most calm and serene place you will find. Gorgeous and spacious rooms with huge bathrooms. A very comfortable bed and pillows. The pools are both wonderful, super nice water. And the spa is also lovely. Free parking. Both restaurants serve a nice dinner.

Recently renovated, le Couvent is one of the very best Property in France. Attention to details. Charm. Elegant design well immersed in the surrounding Nature. And the Couvent itself, stunning. 2 very nice restaurants, a stunning spa. Definitely worth the trip.

Switzerland1. Unfortunately, the beds were not to our liking, as we found them quite hard for a good night's sleep. Also, there are two separate matresses that we normally try to avoid. 2. Our terrace / balcony was facing the backyard and was situated right by the kitchen exhaust, which was not ideal due to the smells from the kitchen. Even with closed windows, the smell would be in the room. 3. In the spa, we noticed that towels were often left lying around and not promptly put away, which detracted from the otherwise pristine environment. 4. The sunbeds in the spa were not uncovered, despite there being no rain since the previous night. We needed to uncover them ourselves, which is not reflecting a 5* environment. 5. There was no proactive suggestions in the room regarding hotel amenities or local attractions, which would have been helpful. 6. While the breakfast buffet was nicely presented with big enough selection, the a la carte options came at an extra cost (even boiled egggs) and the selection of the buffet (marmalade, cake, fruit etc) was basically the same every day, which felt unnecessary. 7. The air conditioning in our room dripped and leaked, which was quite inconvenient and uncomfortable.
Positives: 1. The room was spacious, providing space to relax and unwind. 2. The pool area was a highlight, with its stylish design and well-maintained surroundings, offering a perfect spot to lounge and soak up the sun. 3. The interior design of the hotel was stunning, blending modern elegance with classic charm. 4. The spa facilities were top-notch, offering a serene escape for relaxation and rejuvenation. 5. The overall tranquility of the hotel was impressive, making it a peaceful retreat. 6. The building itself is a marvel, showcasing exquisite architecture that adds to the luxurious ambiance. 7. The staff, especially at the restaurant, were friendly. However, staff at reception did seem a little hesitant, which affected the overall service experience slightly.

GreeceBreakfast was not equivalent to the level of the other hotel services.Being there is usually for vacations, aplace to find peace of mind and body. There were no vegan or special dietary options, or there were not available when we were there. also 07:30 to 10:30 is too early for my taste.
everything was almost perfect! The people there speaking a loyt of languages, always helpful, always polite they were trying to make the best for our stay! Also the SPA is one of the best!! The restaurant as well, excelent food , super full wine list and excellent service!

PortugalThe bar is not cosy ... could be made to look more cosy to invite people to spend more time there Should give priority to residents at your hotel restaurants ... one of the reasons to stay at Relais Chateau is to eat a meal on site
Lovely breakfast.... shame that you charge for eggs when most five star hotels include this as a part of the breakfast Great swimming pool outside .... lovely views
