Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe cleaning of the rooms was a bit haphazard. The bed would be made up, but cups not washed. In one of our party's bathrooms, there was no shower gel from day one and they said they couldn't put some in because they didn't have any!
The hotel is only a 3 minute walk from the station, which is really useful, and only a 15 minute walk into the historic centre. There are lots of restaurants close by too, with plenty of choice for eating.

IndonesiaThe only one I didn't like is the super small elevator. I was accompany by my friend to bring my luggage, and we can't enter the elevator together. My friend is waiting when i go up, and after he followed after.
The staff is super humblel. The room is quite spacious, neat and clean. With the location very near to the station made me easy to access anywhere. Also a lot cafe nearby. The breakfast also delicious, but as an Asian actually it not my preference. Overall all good and worth the money.

SwitzerlandThey possibly forgot to put a towel in my room - but i brought my own, and maybe they would usually put one.
I got to put my bike in their backyard. I also had to pack my bike for the upcoming train trip, which they allowed. Included breakfast was nice!

We received a friendly welcome when we arrived on our bikes. Bikes stored safely. Our room was a good size, with comfortable beds, and air conditioning. Bathroom was lovely, clean and plenty of towels. We did not have breakfast as we had to leave early in the morning for a train.

United StatesFirst, the small elevator could accommodate only one person and their luggage at a time. More critically, the TV stopped working the second day was not fixed by the time we left. Finally, the internet was unstable. You would be kicked off repeated and have to go through a lengthy sign-on process to reestablish a connect. Outgoing e-mails took minutes to be sent. We were never able to successfully get on and stay on Facebook.
We chose the location because it was 1/2 block from the train and bus stations and close to several good restaurants. The room size and amenities were what one would expect from a 3-star. The breakfast offering were quite wide and delicious.

United KingdomWe had a family room which had very comfortable beds and great sheets; en suite had a good shower and there was plenty of space to move around in the bathroom; friendly staff who were always smiling; a standard continental breakfast however the marmalade was homemade and was exceptional. With its great location I would recommend this hotel.

United KingdomIt took me possibly half an hour of breaking the law countless times , using my sat at, trying to locate the hotel. Eventually I parked up on the pavement in a nearby street, once I had spotted the hotel, having not found a way of driving down the street where it is situated! I would NEVER advise anyone to stay there , considering how difficult it is to arrive by car. Admittedly it’s only a few minutes walk from the train station! So I’m afraid that’s what I DID NOT LIKE!
Johnathan on Reception was very helpful and directed me to the nearest car park when I arrived . He also advised me about visited Fougeres as a place of special interest of which he had personal knowledge . This advice was most helpful and much appreciated .
