Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyStaff was not very well prepared. We asked for recommendations of places to go, and basically we were encouraged to come back in another season, but not October/November. Fortunately the weather was nice and we could catch the last open weekend of the Aiguille du Midi.
Lovely decorations, delicious breakfast included. The restaurant offers dinner options at good prices and great wine. You can only reach the location by bus from the city center, every 30min.

RomaniaOld hotel probably bought by Ibis and little renovation but the photos are deceiving. The general state is not so good. The room was small, very very smelly, we could hardly go to sleep. The bathroom was peculiar, the toilet room separate from the other room with the shower. The toilet had max 1 square meter, you can barely enter... No ventilation in bathrooms. No room service. When checking in, the only concern they had was for us to pay the city tax. I was asking where to park because I left the car at the entrance and was occupying half a lane, but they did not care. They kept saying about city tax. Nothing else. Very rude and unprofessional. They did not even checked us in and was asking for money. Also not all personnel spoke English. Not a word for some of them... incredible for a hotel in such an area and in 2023. Never again. Not recommended.
Breakfast passable. Bed and sheets were ok. Parking was always fool but you can find a spot after all. Close to a cable car (Belvedere). Close to Chamonix by car 5-6 km.

IsraelThe hotel is smelly. Both the room and dining room have bad smell The staff is absolutely not helpful. Most of the time - there is no one in the reception desk. They asked for paying tax twice - once during check in and again during check out, and didn't give an invoice.

United KingdomWe were put in a room next to the elevator which was in use 24/7 and noisy. When we asked to be moved (after 5 minutes in the room) they said they could do it the next morning but in the morning they said no promises so we were worried all day as we had not slept. They did move us in the end for our last night to a nice and quiet room. I left a hairbrush of sentimental value when we checked out and they confirmed they had it with a photo, on the phone I asked them to store it for 2 weeks until I could collect it as they declined to post it to me. I came back in 2 weeks and they claimed to have never had it. They were really uncooperative and rude about this, and have not apologised for wasting my time and loosing my belongings. Breakfast was quite nice, nothing special.

South AfricaStaff were was unfriendly and struggled with English. I understand this is a french town, but the majority of the guests I met were English speaking, so get the right staff at the reception. They also got our room details wrong, and we didn't know there was an extra City tax. No one made us aware of it. So had to pay an extra 5%. Pillows were very uncomfortable.
Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good.

Germany- No coffee and tea facilities (ie no kettle) in the room or free drinks in the lobby (as is often the case in other hotels). - Before my trek I'd also booked there and my reservation was cancelled - apparently due to works, but in fact it was because they had to close down after an inspection. - There were too few hangers and almost no space in the room to hang clothes after my long trek.
The option I was given to change rooms. You don't want a room at the back onto a back yard and car park after a 10-day trek in the Alps!

United KingdomGreeted at the door by a very friendly Italian man, helpful staff during check in. Food was incredible, the 3 course fixed menu was delicious. Everything was great, room very clean and pleasant and well designed. View from the front balcony was great overlooking mountains.
