Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe found the beds a little too firm for our aging bones. We have stayed at many hotels and to cope with over weight people the beds are too firm. The smart hotel are using mattress toppers which overcome the issue providing a restful night.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and real credit to the hotel

Very nice old style french hotel. Not super fancy rooms, but clean and very comfy. Great pool on the hillside out the back. Staff friendly and efficient. Dinner pretty good also!

BelgiumSwimming pool old fashioned and too family oriented so too shallow with small deep section~parking at the back of hotel high up the hill meaning 50 steps up and down so this hotel sadly isn't practical for disabled or people with mobility problems~you can park in some of the flat public car parks but they are about 400 metres from hotel
Location~staff~breakfast~swimming pool

United Kingdomd-humored (even the chambermaids and waiters had smiles) but went out of their way to welcome me and field my many requests as a first-timer in the area – they even set out to move my car from an illegal space (which I had not noticed at 2 AM) into the hillside parking lot until foiled by its right-hand drive, which voids third-party insurance in France. Another magical experience I had at the Grand Hotel de l’Europe owes to new French laws on public lighting – the streetlamps go out at midnight, which treats you to the most amazing panorama of the Milky Way if you have one of the 21 front-facing rooms. Whether you’re alone (as I was) or with your partner or family (as most were) you’ll be treated to a demure and low-key stay with pretty much everything a guest could want at your fingertips here (they even provide a bedside laminate on remote control usage – which may sound funny but we all know the frustration of confronting the “blue screen of death” after hitting the wrong button on an unfamiliar device following a long journey when you just want to plop down and watch TV)! I can’t comment on the hotel restaurant save to say the food looked darned good when I arrived circa 9 PM each night, too tired from my "belles balades" (long hikes) to contemplate the required change of clothes for what would probably have been desert-only. But the Grand Hotel offers a decent sized grocery store just 50 feet away, which is where I bought what I needed for a quick room meal, and there is also an unassuming but truly excellent restaurant called Scully adjacent to the hotel, where I had 4 consecutive lunches froma very varied menu, including regional specialities like aligot (a potato-cheese puree), trouffade (another delicious potato dish) and fougasse (a local flatbread). In short, the Grand Hotel de l’Europe with its village neighbors on the food-drink-shopping fronts simply nail in every way – stay here and enjoy!
I so enjoyed my stay here last month. Everything about this hotel says “we care” and “we put our guests first.” It’s situated on Meyrueis’ diminutive town square – with the babbling Jonte just beyond – and lives up to its name for those wanting a quintessential Gorges du Tarn experience with the lodging to match. This is not a manicured village for the “see and be seen” crowd but an authentic Languedoc one for adventuresome types looking to enjoy the myriad hiking, rafting, kayaking, climbing, caving and other outdoor pursuits the region has on offer. The property is newly renovated and offers attractive and comfortable rooms which are decorated in neutral tones to accentuate the splendor outside rather than compete with it – in other words when you enter your room with shutters open you almost feel as though you are on the mountain, or next to the church belfry, or even at one of many sidewalk restaurants just a stone’s throw away. The lobby and dining area are spacious with just the right blend of new and old, and the hotel also has a delightful swimming pool improbably perched on a hillside above its top floor, itself accessed by a clever and almost whimsical (think Grimm’s fairy-tale) set of stairs and aerial bridges. Guest parking is available in a lot just beyond the pool but for those who prefer step-free access there is also a large public – and free – carpark a few hundred feet outside the main door. For me the two standout features of the property were its proximity to the Jonte (whose tumbling waters lolled me off to sleep each night – all front-facing rooms offer this) and the professionalism of the staff (who worked to combine my three individual reservations – made last-minute and high-season via Booking.com -- into a single consolidated stay, sending daily updates to my phone while I was on the road and then leaving my key and a personalized letter on the front desk when a planned 8 PM arrival became a 2 AM one). The team was not only friendly and goo

Situated in the heart of the small town with parking places near by is this hotel a good choice to start exploring the cevennes. Our room on the third floor overlocking the river and the town has everything you need for an even longer stay. The friendly owner and the hotel crew were extremely nice, that is one thing that makes your holiday a success. The hotel restaurant offers a good choice and quality for a reasonable price. The breakfast was okay, only the coffee could have been hotter. All in all we had a pleasant stay and we would like to recommend this hotel. Thanks for everything and all the best to you.Uwe and Anne
