Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI loved everything about this hotel. Please know that this hotel is all about relaxation so do not expect a tv in your room. And sometimes internet is a bit spotty but after all it is also a good reason to disconnect and read a good book.
Stefanie and Kenneth created a piece of heaven in this elegantly renovated old school building with stunning views on the small medieval town of Olargues. I fully enjoyed the slow pace of southern France and the gastronomic delights that Stefanie and her team serves up for breakfast and dinner. It is a great thing that there are chefs out there that can make plant based meals both exciting and indulging. Thanks also to the host Laura for her warm welcome. She dealt with any issues very efficiently and is always there for any questions. Although the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening Stefanie still proposed to make a nice dinner for me. I really appreciate the lengths the team went through to make make feel welcome. Thank you Team Ecole Olagues for this fabulous stay and creating this little jewel. I hope to come back next year.

New ZealandWhat a treat to arrive to this converted Boarding School by the Van Den Berghe brothers. The attention to detail and huge spaces on the edge of a beautiful river and one of the most beautiful outlooks of our trip. Hire a bike in the next town Mons la Trivalle and bike (mostly flat) the old rail line through scenic bush and over bridges

United KingdomPool is settled amongst thick bamboo and as is infested with mosquitos even during the day. Also it was full of plant material and figs. Basically not maintained. Breakfast is extremely expensive for what you get. €25 for a few slices of bread, some jam and butter and cheese, and a croissant. (1st day I also got 1 egg, but not on the 2nd day). You are better off walking to the local bakery (5-7 min walk) Restaurant is only open if they have lots of guests/restaurant booking. But given how expensive breakfast was, maybe it's a good thing we couldn't eat a dinner here. (By the way an extremely good restaurant is right next door!)
Amazing location. Lovely view to the an old mountain village over the river. There are various terraces to sit out and watch the otter live it's life in the river. It is a small hotel that is a holiday home of some family that they operate as a hotel when they don't use the property. They encourage the guests to use the space as if it was theirs. So we were free to uses the big terraces, we borrowed cutlery from the kitchen (that is this in the middle of this huge bar/lounge/gallery space) to eat our lunch. Deco is lovely and fresh. Modern, earthy yet elegant. Not sure what to call their style, maybe California Boho.

United KingdomWasn’t an issue for us …but no dedicated parking. Super easy to park on street - Lara guided us to a great spot !!
Fabulous converted school on the edge of Olargues. Very relaxed but also beautifully converted. Amazing terraces to sit on and watch the sunset. Fab breakfast (a little pricey at €25 - but beautifully put together.). We didn’t have any other meals in the restaurant - it’s vegetarian. Looked lovely though.

IrelandNothing but a lighter beer would have been nice.
Location, views, space, arty, gardens. But most of all the staff were excellent. Free to move around as if it was your home. This place is a gem. You almost wouldn’t want to let anyone else know about it.

AustraliaProblem with AC. It was very hot two days but we managed by using a fan. Luckily no mosquitos for some divine reason.
Hotel is super cool, stylish and views are amazing from almost anywhere. We don't give full 10 score for many hotels but we both loved out two nights here and would love to come back one day. Manager Laura is amazing and would recommend her yoga sessions as well. Unfortunately they restaurant was closed but luckily next door is one of the best restaurants we experienced in this region up to now.

We had the best stay! The hotel is stunning and the village is one of the prettiest places in France we have been to. Our taxi didn’t show up to take us to the airport and Claire drove us so we could make our flight. We were so grateful it was so kind of her she deserves a raise! We would definitely stay here again it was lovely and relaxing.

United KingdomAlthough the healthy breakfast was very nice, on 2 of our 5-day stay the portions were significantly smaller. We much preferred the buffet continental breakfast on offer at other hotels. We only had dinner once and thought it was expensive for the size of portions served. The menu was limited to vegetarian/vegan dishes which we would choose only occasionally. We did not think the meals offered were good value for money. Parking nearby was not always possible. Although the wi-fi signal in the public areas was good the signal in our room was unreliable and often inaccessible. Our room had a separate terrace which we liked, but this was sometimes used by other guests who thought this was a public area.
Our suite was large with a comfortable bed and a very large and pleasant sitting area. We thought it was good value for the money we paid. The bathroom was also large and well appointed with a good walk in shower. Our room was well serviced every day to a very high standard. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful.

United KingdomL’Ecole is gorgeous. The location, ambience, style of the place - but also, being so well looked after by Johan and the team. We were made to feel so at home straight away, it was so easy to relax and feel totally comfortable. The room (the Junior Suite) was a really good size, with a balcony over the river and lovely furniture and fittings. The food was (obviously) amazing - and swimming in the river and Yoga in the gardens were particular highlights. Would very much recommend a stay here!

Gorgeous property, tastefully decorated with exceptional views from our balcony across the medieval village and the river. Very peaceful and beautiful. The hosts were very attentive and friendly and also made our friends feel very welcome when they visited the property

United Kingdominterior design looked great but it had been done very shoddily and they were mean on pillows, (1 grotty one) and towels were almost rags. I don’t mind too much about the towels, I’m all for recycling when possible, but it just tied in with everything else - felt we were being taken for a ride - not a good one either!
location is absolutely stunning, as in Olargues is beautiful and full of fascinating history. the river is beach like too, and interior design inside great. next door is the most amazing restaurant (very affordable Michelin!!)- Fleurs dOlargues, and since they have bedrooms, that’s is where we would stay next time!
