Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe encountered a few challenges during our stay. Unfortunately, there was limited space for our luggage and buggy, and the staircase was quite narrow. Additionally, the rooms were a bit small and we experienced some issues with the shower. While we were moved to a different room, we still faced similar challenges with the shower. However, we appreciate the efforts made to accommodate us and we're grateful for the overall experience.
I'm glad to say that the staff here are incredibly welcoming and helpful!

Irelandthe hotel didn't have elevator(lift) so we had to use the stairs However, the staff were very friendly and they were very happy to help us with our bags.
the staff were very nice. The room was clean and they clean it every day for us. the location was so good for me, some people said that it was unsafe but for me was very safe. I was there during the new year and I go beach to the hotel late at night and i felt comfortable, but as normal u need to be careful everywhere u go.

United KingdomThe building is not passable for elderly people and other people of different ages due to the very narrow corridors between the doors. The stairs are also small, without an elevator it was a nightmare to go to the fifth floor to carry the suitcase and during the day for safty there was no escape route in case if there is an incident of a fire that can be a big concern so booking should bring more details of accommodation to avoid because place like that am not interested to get an other one in the future so is a shame to get bad surprise from the booking .com

The room was clean. Safety is also considered, access is by card. The staff are helpful when you ask for help. They gave us maps and also advised us on what routes to take as we ventured out.
