Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWhat i don’t like but its not a big problem is thy, it’s hard to close the door. The shower holder is broken so you have to hold it while using. There is no sucket on the side table , ir near on bed ,only an extension which is hanged from up, because the television cord was plugged on it. So there’s no way that you can use your phone while on charging but by standing near on the wall. Guests should bring an extension cord or maybe they can ask the receptionist. They should check as well the food that they are serving (the expiration date) i encountered that all the butter was expired dated ( august 17,2024) , i was there August 28, 2024. i told to the lady that it was expired, and she changed it immidiately.
The lovation is good. Its just a few minutes walk from Cordeliers Station, you can find it easily. The room size is good. (106). It was carpeted.

NetherlandsNo airconditioning or ventilation, only a fan, which unfortunately resulted in the room being quite warm and humid throughout the (summer)night.
Nice location and overall pretty clean. Simple room with a private bathroom.

United KingdomThe Amenities mention a fan for the room. No fans are available. Not ideal if it's hot. We had a room with an 'internal courtyard view' on 5th floor. We were exhausted climbing the spiral staircase. There is no view except the room opposite. When the windows are open you can hear everything! Don't take a large case! Check before booking what room you have. It mentions city view on the booking form and inner courtyard, but you don't know which one you are getting. This is a 1 star for a reason! There are no fire escapes so the inner courtyard room worried me.
Staff were friendly and location was perfect for us meeting friends. we weren't looking to spend time in the room. Short walk to old town and metro. Close to the river market stalls. Bed was comfortable although on a slope. We didn't have breakfast but it looked good.

GermanyThe public areas (staircases, hallways) could do with some work,if only to make the place seem more welcoming. Bathrooms generally seem really small in these budget places.
The lights were bright enough to read by, there was plenty of hot water to shower with, and the location was ideal: lots of restaurants to choose from, just around the corner! Nothing luxurious, but you can't expect that from a budget hotel.

ColombiaI arrived 2am to Lyon, there’s no 24hours reception. I had to walk by the surroundings with my luggage I came back by 4am, an old guy kept the luggage but said it was forbidden to stay at the reception, I explained we were not planning to sleep on it just waiting for some sunlight to show up so I could go out with mom, we refused and ask to leave the property since it was forbidden even to stay in the hall. He said that if we wanted to go to luminous place until shops are open we should take the metro and come back to the bus station, to where we could find seats and a refugee from night.
The hotel is very good located, close to interest places, restaurants and supermarkets

United StatesThe bathroom was small and there were too many stairs to get to my room. I wasn't aware that there was anyone to assist someone who might not be able to handle the stairs with luggage. If there was someone I wasn't aware of it.
Everything I needed was in the same space e.g. ensuite bathroom, tv etc. I also like that breakfast was offered and that there the used dishes were taken away promptly by the staff.

SwedenUnreliable WiFi, weak and frequently dropped signal in many places of the quite small hotel. Air conditioning consists of open window (in the middle of a French city?!) and a fan on the floor.
Nice, service minded staff, and one out of three spoke good English while the others knew some (I got a satisfactory answer to my questions).

MaltaThere is no lift - but the reception staff gladly allocated me with a room on the 1st floor because of my bad knee. Only one small fan in the room, no aircon. Another issue: this happened to me twice! The receptionist are very misinformed and they kept on telling me that the hotel is full...so l just walked out of the reception, bought the room online and walked back to the reception with my new booking. This was hilarious!
Other accommodation around HdB was exorbitantly expensive. The hotel is very basic but clean.
