The Jacuzzi was non functional and the hot water was warm.

The only problem would be that there is not a restaurant on site. That would just be a little more convenient, but otherwise delightful.

The hotel is perfect and this time we stayed in one of the buildings by the pool. The staff is incredibly helpful and the breakfast is lovely.

The weather wasn’t ideal, very chilly and sometimes rainy, and we couldn’t sit outside much. It would have been nice to have a larger room as a lounge to enjoy tea in the afternoon or some wine at night. The breakfast rooms were lovely and comfortable

The property is everything is advertised. It’s just slightly out of the city so you must plan your taxis, but the staff could not have been better, You would never be disappointed, no matter what your level of thought about properties is.

- swimming pool a bit tiny and unkempt (dead insects all over, no bar service) - some unpleasant noises in the room at night (first night there was some constant water dripping noise from the - turned off - A/C unit, last night a constant electric buzz coming from the light on the ceiling) - staff were OK but not too welcoming

- beautiful building - breakfast area in the park is dreamy - the charcuterie and cheese board and wine selection from the bar in the evening was good value for money (more the food than the wine) - parking on site - breakfast was good and complete

Close to the motorway which you can hear pretty loudly when you are at the pool. Breakfast was okay but not really good value for your money

Very nice hotel. We were in the newly build rotunde rooms which were great for a family of 5 as the room where together in a separate building. Parking facilities were very good and spacious as well even for a large SUV. Staff was super nice, helped us with dinner reservations and recommendations.

Mosquitos but not a lot the Chateau can do about that.

Everything, room lovely and clean, great AC, lovely pool. Staff very helpful and informative. Breakfast best we've had whilst touring France. First night we were too tired to go out, so we opted for the mixed platter available 25 euros, well worth the money. More than enough for 2. Pates, cheeses, breads, all local. Also has a bar until 10, again reasonably priced.

We found out that you can only rent bikes until 22.00, which put a spanner in our plans. Renting the bikes is charged at the same "day rate" no matter how many hours you use them for, so you would be better off hiring them from early in the morning.

Small pool and stuff asked us to leave the pool at daytime because they have to cut the grass, and it was perfect weather, and we wanted to stay, but we couldn't.

This was our third stay at Chateau de Challanges. The new owners are extremely professional, friendly and welcoming. They are gradually renovating and modernising this beautiful historic property, while maintaining many original features. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, and is due to be refurbished, so we were not surprised that the decor was not very modern. The newly revamped swimming pool area is lovely, providing a larger sunbathing area with modern seating. Breakfast is very good and there is very easy access to Beaune and the wine route, as well as to the motorway.

It required transportation into Beaune and restaurants. Our daughter, age 13 was “too young” to borrow the hotel bikes, or that would have been an excellent solution.

The venue was good, friendly staff, nice garden, pool area and bungalows were clean and spacious.

There is no restaurant on site and the bar closes at 10.00 - so if you come back later than this there is no chance of a drink and a chat. There is no real lounge area.

We had a spacious room and it was very quiet. The grounds were lovely and the afternoon drinks service on the lawn was very pleasant in the sunshine. You could also have breakfast outside on the lawn which was a really nice touch. We didn't use the pool area but it looked clean and inviting. There were extra towels in the room to use by the pool.
