The hotel is really an amazing building set right into the limestone outcrop. There are lots of interesting and thoughtful features. The owner is extremely friendly and we really felt welcomed. The best feature is the combination of luxury with the everyday - the excellent pool is right next to a garden lush with tomatoes and gourds, there are hammocks set all around the extensive grounds etc.

Not a lot! We had problems with the air conditioning in our room, it simply couldn't cope with the temperatures. The Owner, Olivier quickly jumped on the problem and put in an additional mobile unit which solved the problem. I've marked down on comfort for this reason. The stay wasn't cheap but we were there at peak season and in one of the best rooms. That being the case, I feel it was value for money and would definitely do it again.

The welcome from the owner and his staff was exceptional. This is a stunning chateau with lots to explore. The pool was fabulous and very necessary at the time of our stay (39 degrees) What more to say, just a fabulous 3 days in a typical French setting.

Unfortunately the chef was unwell so we didn’t manage to sample the hotel restaurant. Lots of excellent places to eat in Amboise nearby and the hotel gave us good recommendations

The dinner @ the Chateau was good. Set 3 course meal… No options just what was being served on the particular day. definitely need to discuss dietary restrictions if any beforehand .. O/W a nice affair

Whilst fine for us for a few nights, the stairs to the bedroom were very steep and would not suit everyone.

Always difficult when a hotel is building improvements while open. Some of this work involves tunnelling into caves behind the hotel. Of course it is only happening during working hours so you will miss most of it. But bear in mind it can start at 0830. However, it will make an even better stay when finished.

Staff all extremely helpful, comfortable rooms with view of countryside. Quiet. Private free parking. Access to river to kayak with facilities provided free by hotel. Breakfast excellent in very comfortable setting. Soon to have even better facilities, so some work going on outside, (as of April May 2022). Owner very approachable and friendly, Speaks fluent English.
