Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaVery nice to stay in a genuine ancient chateau which is an historical monument. The restoration has kept the ancient character of the building. A unique experience. The breakfast was wonderful and the owner so friendly and helpful.

United KingdomI do not normally respond to these surveys but Chateau ecologie was so good that I feel compelled to do so. La patronne put us at our ease immediately and the atmosphere was one of relaxed grandeur. Perhaps one matter to note - this is definitely a place for animal lovers - friendly dogs, cats, horses pigs and sheep around the house.

We really enjoyed our stay. The Chateau is beautiful and in a great rural idyllic location. The host was wonderful and couldn’t be more helpful and provided an unbeatable breakfast. We only stayed one night on our way through France but would highly recommend.

BelgiumCan't think of anything.
An exceptional small castle (oldest part is 13th century). The mother of the house runs the place with great charm and practical helpfulness. Stunning landscapes, Le Puy quite close.

United KingdomWe loved it but a few things to mention - we arrived by train so as I say above, you need to be prepared to call for a taxi to get you there. We then had a hire car the next day and so it was much easier from then. WiFi was great within the chateau but obviously chateaux from the middle ages have thick walls so we didn't get WiFi outside. Not a problem but worth knowing. Likewise, this is an old chateau, run by a farmer - it isn't modernised with a huge number of modern facilities. It was chilly in the room, but this was as we had expected it, so not a problem.
This is a great little chateau which we (family with young kids) enjoyed very much. Francoise was fantastic, telling us all about some lovely things to see in the area and very happy to allow us to use the table in the sun to eat our picnics. No restaurants nearby and we arrived by train so we visited the supermarket before getting a taxi (10 mins) to the property. We had to call for a taxi from the station, so you'll need to be prepared to do that! We felt very welcome to visit the sheep, pigs, poultry and play in the grounds. Lovely couple of nights' stay.

SpainNothing to remark.
Place is really nice, located in an old castle from the 13th century. Inside the room we had there was an amazing bathtub located in one of the towers from the castle. Breakfast was really good, homemade crepes, bread, marmalades, cheese, salty pastries etc. And really nice people living there (mother and daughters) and taking care from the castle. They gave us a nice dinner when we arrived late including some wine, it was Halloween and it was decorated with some pumpkins.

NetherlandsWe were expecting a breakfast from farm products, more personal. The location could use some glam and freshness, while still experiencing the castle/farm life.
Location, experience, people, animals for the kids. Cats would be nice. :)

Austria- with a little work guests could feel more comfortable (new mattresses..) - unfortunately the tiny bath was across the hallway - looks sordid
So, the chateau itself has a medevial flair, but if you expect a hotel with a certain niveau for this price (we payed 110€ for 1 night), then please take another hotel. The owner told us that they have an organic farm around the chateau and they try to be self-sufficient with it. However, also the farm looks rather sordid and needs a proper job until it looks „nice“. Overall, it was a bed for one night, but nothing more.
