The breakfast was superb. The owner herself went over the details herself the night before. It was truly excellent. Also the host called me before and inquired about arrival times. She also pointed me to a excellent restaurant 7 minutes drive away. It was all very comfy and clean. A group of artists was going to come in late at night and she made sure they would not wake me up.

Mrs Poli was the most amazing host. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable beds indeed!! Very helpful on where to eat when we got there after a long journey. We were brought cold drinks up to our room on arrival. Beautiful garden all very well kept. Breakfast was delicious everything local, breads, cheese, pastry’s and a wonderful drinks machine. I wish we had longer to stay, but we will Be back for sure and recommend to our friends. You won’t be disappointed with any aspects of your stay.

It is one of favourite location and destinations. Our husky absolutely adores the proprietor and follows her round. She remembers her from each visit. We will be using this place again.

The owner Lydia went out of her way to arrange a table for us at a local restaurant, and liased closely with us about check in arrangements. The accommodation was clean, very comfortable and a log fire was lit for us (cold January night). Excellent breakfast.

A warm welcome, a beautiful house, diner was delicious and Madame Poli is a lovely host. The room was very spacious and perfect for our family of 5. We also had a private bathroom.

Friendly and helpful owner. We arrived quite late in the evening, but the owner was waiting for us and there was no problem with check-in. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was also good. The whole family was happy!

Nothing. It was perfect!

We stayed in a very clean and well decorated 2-bed suite. The bathroom was very spacious. And the host was extremely friendly and sweet. There's a small garden with a small slide for toddlers. We also enjoyed our breakfast, which included boiled eggs, croissants, breads, homemade jams and locally sourced apple juice and cheese.

We did n’t feel welcomed. The owner was busy resolving an electricity issue and left us waiting to check in for 40 minutes without informing us there was a problem. She apologised afterwards but it all felt rather stressed.

Everything! Gem of a place, in a quiet village. Slightly out of the main tracks (20-60km) from motorway but well worth a detour. Super tasty breakfast and amazing, very accommodating host. Beautiful room, perfect for either shorter or longer stays. Thank you Madame Poli!

This place was a gem , absolutely fantastic the host was so nice to us , we had originally booked for 1 night heading to Italy & 1 night on our return journey but unfortunately we had to cancel the return 1 , this place was spotless clean , & recommend us a great French family run restaurant in the evening, I could go on & on about it just fantastic

Nothing - everything was perfect

We stayed here as a stop over on the way to the south. The property is gorgeous with a nice enclosed garden which was perfect for our 2 dogs. Everywhere was immaculately clean and our room had an en-suite which was also great. Nice comfy beds, a tv in the room, selection of tea/coffee and Lydie had specifically laid the spare beds so the dogs had somewhere to sleep if we wanted. Our dogs were made to feel welcome and at home the entire time. The breakfast is lovely with home made jams/croissants and fresh bread. Would 100% recommend coming here! Thank you Lydie

There is nothing to dislike about Mdme Poli and the accommodation, it's just the best. The only minor issue is the fact that the villages (including the nearest, Auxon) are so quiet means getting dinner in the evening necessitates travelling. The local Intermarche is new and very well stocked and you are welcome to use the house facilities which we did on the first night. Our weather was sunny and warm so we actually cycled up to the recommended Au Puisotin 8km away but I guess that's not for everyone! Lydie did run another couple up herself when we were there but one idea might be to have a local driver handy to do it? This didn't really impact us but some may find it a hindrance.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clos Poli. Our host Lydie was great throughout, always available and friendly but never overbearing and the room was superb, very well furnished and very clean. Bathroom was superb. The location is so quiet and surrounded by lovely countryside, pretty quiet roads, small villages, wide open space and big skies. We spent two days out and about cycling and loved it. Beakfast was excellent, of a great standard and such a nice touch to be asked for preferences on arrival. Great home made jams! Parking easy and more than adequate...we were in a van which fitted with room still available for two more cars. All in all, a fantastic stopover for a couple of days before we headed home.

Difficult to improve on a near perfect place

Lydie is a brilliant host, she could not have been more helpful or indeed more dog friendly. It is rare to find a host who understands the needs of visiting dogs and their owners as well as she does. The accommodation was spotless and very well thought out. We really appreciated the fenced in garden and the fact that we were very close to some lovely woodland walks. Breakfast was a delight everything that one could need or want was supplied. We will certainly be returning in the future.
