Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe arrived too late in the day for a tasting and overview. However, our room was well stocked with wine and small refreshments. Breakfast was excellent, and walking through the vineyards was refreshing. Room was extremely comfortable. We’d certainly go again.

United KingdomEvening meal on site would have been good to avoid having to do a wine tasting and then having to drive to the nearest restaurant (we chose to bring food from a local supermarket to avoid having to drive after the wine tasting).
The rooms, the staff and the grounds of the property were all excellent. The bathroom with its free standing bath overlooking the vineyards was also a highlight. The rooms were very comfortable, with a large bed and excellent AC.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
What a find this is. In a great location at the heart of the wine producing region of Saint Emilion. A wonderful warm welcome and shown to our fabulous room 'La Rose Perriere' Offered to take us on a personal tour of the Chateau shortly after arrival and received a very informative presentation on the vineyard, followed by tasting of the different wines produced. We couldn't resist purchasing, so we did. Our breakfast host was brilliant and made sure we had a fabulous choice of pastry, fruit and yoghurt each morning. We were there for four nights and after the first night, we were the only ones there to enjoy such peace and quiet. We were also happy to sit out each evening in the garden and admire the views, with cheese, olives and wine, with the owners happy to allow us the freedom to come and go as we pleased.

United KingdomThis is not a criticism of the chateau, but just something for future guests to keep in mind. The chateau is located about a 10-15 minute drive away from most restaurants and taxis/Ubers are not very prevalent in this area, so keep that in mind when doing wine tastings during the day! You will most likely need to drive somewhere for dinner, as there are not many options at all in nearby Lussac (a 1-mile walk from the property).
Beautiful chateau on the most gorgeous grounds with so many flowers, plants, and of course the vineyard views! Our room was very quiet and private and we loved the huge bathroom with the shower coming from the ceiling as well as the amazing large bathtub. The room had air conditioning, which was very nice so that we didn't get too hot. The bed was very comfortable as well. Breakfast every morning was delicious and we were able to sit outside overlooking the gardens and vineyards. We were able to do a wine tasting and quick tour of the property on our last night there. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay during our honeymoon in France.

NicaraguaThere was never any staff around, so it felt a bit weird and unwelcoming. We checked in on a Sunday at 3pm and according to the pre-arrival message, someone would be there to receive us. We showed up and all of the facilities were locked up with no one in sight. There was a small bag with a key in it, but the name written on it wasn’t ours, so we were left feeling confused. We waited around for awhile and realized no one was coming, so we just used the key and saw no one for the rest of the day/night. Also, I had sent a message before our arrival asking for more information about the vineyard tour and tasting and no one ever responded to it. However, there appeared to be a tour going on the day after we checked-in, which we only noticed as people were leaving the property in the afternoon. Perhaps it was a private group, but if felt uncomfortable being the only other people staying at the chateau and having zero interaction from staff or seeing any other guests. We booked this expecting a B&B experience where you mingle with other people, learn about wine, etc. but the whole vibe was a bit cold and isolating. The one woman on the staff we did see at breakfast was very lovely, but we were unfortunately unable to communicate with her due to the language barrier (although the property is advertised as multi-lingual), so it was an unexpected additional challenge. We are very easy to please and low-maintenance, but this did not live up to the expectation and cost of the “experience” advertised.
The grounds are breathtaking, with so much attention to beautiful landscaping. The rooms are charming and comfortable and the bathrooms are very spacious with a luxurious bathtub to enjoy. The breakfast was tasty with a nice selection of breads, fruit, eggs, juice and coffee.
