We booked this hotel twice during our vacation in France. Both times were consistent - friendly staff, clean, comfortable beds, linens, and room. The hotel is perfectly located to everything but quiet surroundings at night. Highly recommended and will stay here again if I am Lyon. Ordered room service our first night because we were too tired to go out and also had a great experience with delicious food and a bottle of wine.

Cozy home feeling, classic interior design room, very clean. Very good location. We got two interconnected rooms with a main entrance door, such setup is super convenient and impressive for families.

Small things which can be improved : automatically match number of water bottles offered to the number of guests, make sure new ones are being provided everyday. Or install a filtered water fountain in the bedrooms corridor for instance ? Some towels missing the second day. More about the room cleaning / service to be controlled and improved. The rest was great and staff proved really helpful and efficient (reception and restaurant).

Very good hotel : good service from attending staff. Very comfortable bedroom, well equipped. Location is really good. Breakfast is quite impressive.

The bedrooms are not the largest, however we found them to be perfectly adequate for our stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. The room had everything we needed.

Hotel was beautiful, very clean. Loved the old fashioned lift in the stairwell. Breakfast was great - continental and cooked breakfast available. Amazing artwork on the ceiling in the bar.

The customer service was absolutely outstanding. Not only during our stay but we experienced a serious loss after leaving and the hotel went above and beyond to assist us and we are very grateful indeed.

Last day of our stay the protests spread to Lyon and during the night police and activists faced off and all these events took place in front of the hotel. Thank God we were safe, but unfortunately we learned that the hotel does not have 24-hour security. A hotel of this quality should think and must be prepared with such risks.

Amazing location at the heart of the city. Always be kind and responsive stuff and breakfast is satisfying w/ really good quality.

Perfect hotel and well worth the price. Building and location were perfect and beautiful. Our room was small but pretty and functional. Hotel staffs were friendly and helpful especially Julian. There’s an old elevator which is very French and so pretty. Hotel provides lemon water in the lobby for free and you can have it if you feel hot after your shopping. It’s a nice touch. Overall very satisfied ;)

We loved our room, it’s been one of the biggest rooms we’ve stayed in Europe. The hotel is centrally located, lots of businesses, restaurants and a really well maintained property, preserving the classic and historic style throughout the property.

This hotel is in the best location in Lyon. It is very nice and the staff is professional, helpful and friendly. Make sure to have a drink in the bar downstairs as it is a very nice setting.

They were having the perfect storm on the days we stayed there: the (beautiful, unique) lift was broken, so everybody was obliged to use the stairs. And the stairs were having the carpets changed on the same day, so going up and down was interesting! The breakfast room was also being refurbished, so it was being served in the bar, and it seemed expensive for what it was.

The Carlton is located in a central, beautiful plaza in Lyon, with a wonderful view to Notre Dame de Fourvière. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are very pleasant, with small balconies, very comfortable beds, really nice bathrooms, good toiletries. Pleasant bar downstairs.
