But being a basement without airco the windows were open and people outside were noisy for the best part of the night and morning. Only two toilets means a good wait time in the morning. The 100 euros deposit, I understand it but I haven't seen it in 20 years of hotels and hostels.

Love the cubes to sleep in a hostel, much better than the usual stacked beds. Nice common area and plenty of showers. Quick reception and great to be able to enter with codes at night. Amazing location being so close to the train station...

This could be the time of the year (August). There were many mosquitoes in the dormitory room and no repellents around. I was bitten all night. Perhaps I should have researched better re conditions in Lille.

It is not that I disliked it, but the fact that there were only three toilets for men (two in the basement and one near the reception) was somewhat surprising. In most of the hostels I have stayed at throughout Europe, there were typically more toilets available. However, given the structure of the building, there is likely little that can be done to improve this.

I would say that this hostel offers good value for money. I was specifically looking for a clean place near the city centre, and it met my expectations. I stayed in a large dormitory with 18 beds, most of which remained unoccupied during my stay, which was ideal. Contrary to other reviews suggesting that street noise made it difficult to sleep, I did not find it particularly disruptive. While it was somewhat noisy, this is to be expected in the city centre, especially with numerous restaurants, bars, and snack shops within 10 metres on both sides of the hostel. The two receptionists, both young and very helpful, were exceptionally friendly and kind. After checking out, I left my luggage earlier in the day and returned later after the conclusion of the conference I was attending. The young lady at the reception kindly allowed me to store my backpack alongside my other belongings. Additionally, the cleaning lady were diligent and maintained a high standard of cleanliness throughout the premises.

It is the heart of the city centre yet it was not noisy in the night. Very practical and everything we needed was at the room. Very pleasant staffs were at the reception too.

The kitchen is pretty small and can get easily crowded. Also other than the tap in the kitchen, there isn't anywhere to fill up your water which is a bit tricky.

This hostel is right outside the train station, so ideal for a quick stop. I am also a fan of pod hostels, so the room situation was ideal. Quite spacious and secure lockers (bring your own locks). If you book through booking.com you also get your towel in the price! A nice and upscale hostel in a good location. Will store your bags in a conference room as well on request! Ventilated rooms are great in this heat as well.

There was this strange mouldy smell in some areas, but everything was super clean.

The pods were quite spacious, confortable and private. Nice common areas, I was even able to do some remote work. The staff was also very friendly.

Hostel was in the basement so it got hot at times. The area near the station didn’t feel safe as a solo traveller (not the hostels fault, just something to note). No lift so lugging heaving suitcases up and down the stairs was not fun

The only thing with my room was the bathroom floor was a bit needing a refurb, it could do with a bit of love. A small thing to fix for much better reviews!

The hotel is a brilliant location, accross the road from Flandres station, it was so easy to get to - a 5 minute walk from Lille Europe as well. There are plenty of bars and shops nearby and it seems a pretty safe area. The room itself was very big, spacious, had utensils and everything worked fine! Id recommend the room for a short to mid long stay in Lille

This didn't bother me at all, but if you're into the really social, boozy hostels, this place is NOT the hostel you're looking for.

The bed was very comfy and the storage locker was very large. A nice gentleman working there kept the kitchen area very clean and tidy, which is unusual for hostel. Location was very convenient to Lille-Flandres.

This is our 3rd stay but now the rooms, especially the bathrooms need complete refurbs. Booked a superior room but did not want a room with a dormer window and only being able to see a roof. Was given another room which was a standard but was very tatty. Finally got a superior room but was far from ‘superior’. They are refurbishing the common areas and bathrooms according to the notices dotted around but didn’t see any sign of work being done. It’s a shame as I like the position of the hotel (even with people hanging around shouting and drinking!) I have to say even though I was not happy, the staff did their best to accommodate me. Hopefully will stay again, if the rooms are refurbished.

The bathroom was very basic. The shower had what looked like it should be a 'rainfall' attachment, except the overhead part had a cap screwed over the end of the pipe so your only two options were to use the (leaky) handheld nozzle or open the cap and essentially have an open pipe drop water on you. We did ask reception if we could get a new shower head but they didn't help us - there might have been a language barrier issue (despite me showing them the attached pic). On the plus side, there was a bath as well, so I just used that instead.

The room was lovely and spacious, it looked as it did in the photos. There was a mini kitchen with a fairly big fridge. The sofa, desk and dining table were a nice touch. The location is superb - ten mins walk to all the major sights and fun areas of Lille. Also super close to the Eurostar and metro stations.

The bathroom and toilet are way out from my room

The location is good. It is near to the train and bus station. There is curtain fixed on the bed for added privacy. Good kitchen facilities for cooking a meal.
