Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United StatesThe app did not work for me at the main door, necessitating a call to the host for help. Worked fine at the apartment door itself though, and I used it throughout the trip. This is nothing the host can control, but good to be aware of: As it typical at many French apartments --Montpellier especially, where many accommodations are in historic buildings with walls of part stone, as is the case here-- electrical outlets were in very short supply in the main downstairs room, so if you are working during your trip like I was and need to plug in computer equipment, you'll have to unplug something else (lamps or TV) to do so -- and no outlet is located close to the dining table, which is where I'd normally set up for work.
Very kind and extremely responsive host, cute and tidy little apartment, lovely terrace, great location close to the train station in a lively, leafy neighborhood with all conveniences close by. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are traveling for leisure and won't need to work during the stay. Would have happily spent all my time on the terrace if I did not have to work!

United KingdomDidn't like the Nespresso machine, would much rather have a cafetière or filter machine but that's just personal preference. Instructions for the heating control and the coffee maker would have been helpful. The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are steep. Fine for us but not ideal for someone with any kind of mobility issue, especially in the middle of the night. The bed is very noisy - it squeaks every time you move or turn over. If you are the kind of person who falls asleep and doesn't move it would be fine but we are both light sleepers and we kept waking each other up when we moved. We loved the flat but that would probably stop us coming back.
Very quiet day and night, lovely balcony with view of neighbouring gardens, excellent shower, very well equiped kitchen. Particularly liked that there was a teapot! Was a bit unsure about the app-based door 'key' but it worked fine.

PolandFantastic place! Lovely, comfortable apartment with nice balcony. The rooms and kitchen are clean and equipped with everything necessary. Close to the charming streets of the old town, bakeries, restaurants. 5 mins to the railway station and tram stops. The host is kind, very helpful and polite. I highly recommend this place.

AustraliaUnfortunately the bed was creaky & uncomfortable, the couch was hard. Very narrow, steep steps up to the bedroom. Small tv, no access to English channels. The key app was tricky at first.
The balcony was great, pleasant decor, light filled apartment, good kitchen, great shower, easy walk from the train station. Privacy roller shutters, laundry.
