Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFor elderly visitors it is worth noting that this is an old building with a steep spiral staircase and, there is no elevator which would be difficult to install. There is no restaurant and breakfast is not included. A kettle in the room for making hot drinks would be a major plus.
The hotel is really well located for the Metro and buses. There are shops and restaurants close by, including a well stocked pharmacist which offers both traditional and homeopathic options. Everything essential worked well, the hot water, internet, toilet and the bed sheets were beautifully crisp and clean. Great reading light on the bedhead.

United StatesThe angle of the shower in the bathroom was frustrating because it was aimed directly at the toilet and would get that wet. The trash can should’ve been outside the bathroom because it constantly got wet from the shower. Most things were fine, aside from how tiny it was but the room works for a short trip.
It was a good, safe place to sleep. I didn’t have any issues of cleanliness and the staff was friendly. I checked in late but they were very accommodating.

VenezuelaThe room was small and the streets around are all under construction. The hotel was clean but someone from the cleaning staff had a very bad body odor and when they arrived in the morning to clean out the facilities they impregnated everything with their smell.
I liked the staff of the hotel. It was clean. People were super friendly. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The hotel is also really close to a metro station.

PortugalThe room wasn't that clean; it was very small, and it was a long way up the staircase with no elevator. The water pressure was pretty bad, too.
The price, the staff, and the location.

FinlandRoom was overall quite gloomy and dark. Bathroom was quite small and it was hard to not get water everywhere. Showerhead looked a bit unclean as did some small spots in the room, but nothing serious.
Staff and location were great. The hotel and its surroundings were peaceful, room was clean enough and the bed comfortable enough. Overall really good value for money and would stay again.

ItalyThe room was a bit too small, simple and spartan, the bathroom too small and no separation between the shower and the wc or the sink. The TV was small and on top of the cabinet.
The bed was comfortable, the staff very, very kind. The location was amazing close to a lot of place and full of restaurants all around.

HungaryThe bathroom door was broken, could not close it. There were holes on the bedlinen. Small room, but for one night and two persons it was more than okay for this price.
The location was good, within walking distance from the sightseeings, metro station was also within walking distance. There are a lot of small shops and restaurants nearby. The staff was very helpful and kind, speaking English. They were kind enough to show us the accommodation and explain how to enter the building even at night. Safe street, you can walk after sunset too.

IrelandI liked everything.
I loved staying at Hotel Anya. It was so authentically Parisian and way better than staying in a chain hotel. I loved my small, exactly as I expected, Paris hotel room. The staff, who I think are the owners, were so friendly and welcoming and helpful and accommodating. And the location is excellent, in a regular city neighbourhood with lots of local flavour - cafes and bars and shops and parks. It is less than a minute's walk to the Metro. Most days I walked down through Place de la Bastille to the very centre of the city. I would definitely stay in Hotel Anya again. It's perfect for a single traveller or a couple.

GermanyThe bathroom is so small. I am an Asian woman, but I still find it really small. It's a standard comfort room that they put a shower on it. So imagine the small space in between a toilet and sink, they simply put the shower on it to look a complete bathroom. So when I shower, I need to hold the shower head so that my towels won't get wet. 🙄 And also the stairs 🤨 I stayed at 4th floor, there's no elevator and the stairs are spiral. So when I leave my room, I triple check my things before going down to make sure I haven't left something important because it's really freaking to go up and down 🙄
The location, it's very near metro station

UkraineMy room was cleaned bad. Awful smel in the room, on the second day I found cigarette butts inside of the radiator, bedclothes was with someone's hairs. Shower room is a separete story, too small and inconvinience. Also there is no an elevator in the hotel , so take it into account if you have a heavy laggage. ( I carried my luggage up the spiral staircase to the 4th floor)
Staff is pretty pleasant , location is great (2 min to metro) and a direct bus to the Louvre, so you can enjoy sightseeing excursion from the bus. Сonditions are tolerable for a short stay

AlbaniaThe rooms are small and so are the bathrooms and there is no housekeeping however the price can not be beat so it is a tradeoff I would make again(save that money for the food)
The staff are amazing and they try very hard to be as helpfull as possible ,there is warm water (although you have to wait a while) and they bring you all the extra towels and blankets you want. The most EXEPTIONAL part is how close it is to them Metro station and the lines that you can take there take you in a couple minutes to the eiffel tower ,arc de triumph and many other MUST SEE places!
