Excellent continental breakfast and very friendly, helpful hosts Joachim and Sadie. The gites at 45BB is clean, modern, quiet and very well equipped. It's location is ideally placed...10 minutes walk to the Place de Carnot and further 10 mins to the Canal du midi and train station. In the other direction it's a 20 mins walk along the beautiful river Aude to the Pont Vieux and La Cité.

Instructions in the apartment for using the oven, it took several steps to get it heating whereas most ovens work on dials which are less complex.

Breakfast could have had larger quantities on serving plates especially the ham and the offer of boiled eggs made personally would have been good. The homemade bread would've benefitted from less crust and more interior bread. This may make it slightly more expensive but that would have even OK with us.

Perfect accommodation at 45bb to discover both the newer lower town (5 mins walk) and the higher medieval cite (about 20 mins walk) Presented by fantastic, personable hosts, Sadie & Joachim (not forgetting Juneau 😁), Apartment 45bb is nestled behind an imposing brown door on Boulevard Barbès. As you as you step through the door, you are transported into an oasis of calm and quality. The pool is perfect for the size and number of guests for hot days and the facilities are fantastic. Pool towels freely available for use. The Gite at the back of the property is huge (67sq m) and is filled with quality items to make the stay very pleasurable. A perfect breakfast is also available to start your day. We would highly recommend, and will be happily doing so amongst our family network, and when the time is right, we'll be back for a return visit.

Nothing. It was as very hot while we were there but the hosts were well prepared for this with fans and air con so the apartment and house were lovely and cool.

Lovely apartment in a great location. We were seconds from the new town and easy walking distance to the old Cité. The hosts were so lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The apartment was spotless, nicely decorated and had everything we could need and more. Strongly recommend.

It was perfect

Location was excellent, a quick walk into both the old and new town. The facilities were fantastic and the fixtures and fittings in the gite were of a very high standard. The pool was lovely, as were the owners. It is certainly worth opting for breakfast - lots of choice and again a very high standard. Highly recommended.

The area and location was perfect and so relaxing, the apartment was so clean, spacious, private and the pool area was so nice and clean!! The hosts were super welcoming and friendly, and were so easy to communicate with before and during our stay!! We really enjoyed our visit, the air conditioning was so good, the shower was fabulous and the bed was large and comfortable!! Can’t recommend enough!! :)

Sadie and Joachim are outstanding hosts. They delivered the warmest welcome, helped us to our room (Gite), told us about all the places to go and even picked us up from the airport. We can’t praise them enough for their top class service and support. The room was awesome and very modern with everything a couple could want and more. The room even has a wine chiller. The location is brilliant; just 20 mins walk from the medieval cite. The pool was clean and refreshing and we also rented their well maintained bikes for a ride along the canal. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed 3 nights in Sadie and Joachim's wonderful gite. Everything was spotless. The apartment was modern, very well equipped, and the garden was a pleasure to relax in. The location was super, with all the amenities a short stroll away. I highly recommend a stay at this gem of a place!

The room we were staying in is in an old house so the wall isolation is what it is, so it heats up very slowly.

Beautiful property with friendly hosts. It is close to the city and medieval city so it works well when visiting Carcassone. There was an option for breakfast and airport lift for a good price.

Everything was perfect! The apartment was clean, cosy and spacious. Close to restaurants and walking distance to the castle. Excellent breakfast for a very fair price! We loved our stay, and our dog loved it even more!

Everything was perfect. We stayed for a week and Sadie & Joachim were always on hand for assistance with transfers, rental car pick ups, suggestions of places to visit and eat. They do all of this without making it feel intrusive. The whole feel of the place is welcoming and relaxing. The pool, the honesty bar and added extras like bike hire rounds of the experience. We were in the Gite and it is well equipped, clean and comfortable a home from home. A perfect place to base yourself for a week (or longer if you can!) and explore the area.

the facilities were excellent - refurbished to a very high standard with a great, modern kitchen area. Good location between the medieval town and the main city centre. The pool was gorgeous - and very needed in the 40 degree heat! Sadie and Joachim were fantastic hosts who were very friendly and always happy to help with anything. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in the Gite which was lovely self contained apartment. The whole stay was lovely, the apartment is well placed for the new and the old city easy walks away. Sadie and Yocam have us some great recommendations for food and activities whilst we were there. There are bikes to hire and we cycled down the canal du midi which was great. The breakfast is great value and delicious. We can’t recommend this place enough and the bonus of Juno; the dog made our stay!

Fantastic hosts that met me on arrival. Beautiful loft apartment next to the city centre. The inner courtyard has a terrace and swimming pool, which is very rare for a property like this. My only reservation in giving this property and the hosts 10/10 is that it will become so sought after that I won't be able to get back myself!

The weather!😁 and a pity the hot tub wasn't working 😞 but we had lots to do outdoors anyway

The flat is one straight 12-minute walk through the town, from the train station. And everything is within walking distance - Saturday market stalls! Le Cité Médiévale, restaurants, shops! Our hosts gave us excellent recommendations on where to go and what to do for our short time there, and they were always available. The accommodation had every modern amenity a guest could ask for, it was our dream home in Carcassonne! Would definitely stay here again

Nothing - it was perfect

What a beautiful and unique spot Sadie and Joachim have - it’s really special. The apartment is behind the pool, a little oasis on its own. Fully equipped with everything you could ever want. The courtyard is beautiful and a great place to sit for breakfast or a glass of wine at the end of the day. The location is also ideal, a short walk from the Cite. I had free parking just steps outside my door, which was so convenient. I really enjoyed my chats with Sadie and Joachim, wonderful and kind people who provided lots of perspective on the area. Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the Carcassonne area!
