Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe proprety itself has too much light pollution and too sensitive motion detector sensors to make it a good aurora viewing spot. The dinner buffet is of average quality (still good , but not for the very high price). But the really negative side was the husky experience, it has become so touristy and so quantity oriented that the sacrifice of quality is very obvious. After being kept outside in the cold for 20 min, we were greeted with a " go, go, go...lets get this over with" atitude. I mean, i understand in some ways, but its the first time ever i didnt get the chance to socialize with my dogs before the ride. I know that for the people involved its their daily routine , but for some of us its a rare and memorable opportunity. Might wanna improve that aspect
The staff was amazing, the cross ski routes close by well maintained and easy to follow. The breakfast was delicious. Room was spacious and the sauna was among the best i had in Finland. Also worth mentioning that there are some very good aurora viewing spots around the proprety

GermanyConsidering the amounts of snow that fall there, we fully understand that they have to remove it from the access roads to the hotel and the rooms. However, we were surprised that they did it in the area of the cabins (where you sleep) at 5 in the morning almost every day. They woke us up each time and it took them like half an hour to finish. The tractor emits a beep every time it goes forwards or backwards... But we would repeat anyway!
The food surprised us very positively, it was delicious. The buffet for breakfast and dinner were very complete. The cabin where we stayed was super cozy, with a fireplace and a sauna. The perfect location to disconnect, in the middle of the snowy forest, next to a frozen river in the middle of nowhere. The activities organized by the hotel are highly recommended. Very nice staff.

United KingdomThat we had to leave!
The aurora cabin was the most wonderful place to spend our honeymoon. Champagne on arrival and a sauna in the ensuite. Lying in bed watching the aurora borealis was an experience we will never forget. On arrival we got the airport bus to the hotel. This is the last place it stops and it took about 1.5 hours but was only €15 per person which was a bargain. All of the activities were incredible. We hired some snow shoes after doing a few trips and explored the forests just the two of us. The guides were really knowledgeable and keen to share their interest. The staff in the hotel were really accommodating with my dietary requirements and made everything so much easier. The lounge area on the main reception was relaxing and there were games to play on front of the fire. We would definitely recommend staying here as part of a special trip.

CanadaI didn't appreciate have to pay 40 Euros to get a transfer from the bus to the hotel (which was 10 minutes away). I feel like transfers should be included in the price for a such a high-priced property. It would have been nice to have some a la carte food options as well, rather than having to pay a buffet price at set times, where there were only 1-2 options for vegans. Didn't seem fair.
The property is gorgeous and we loved our room with a private sauna. We are vegan, and while there weren't as many options as we would have liked, the restaurant staff tried their best to graciously accommodate us. It was a really special place. The Aurora excursions were a little pricey, for something that felt like mostly a drive into the forest, and then sitting around and waiting without too much guidance. The guides were fun and lovely but the excursion was very loosely programmed. I wish there was a way to have met more guests and intermingle. COVID might have been a damper on that, but communal dining tables as an option would be so great!

SingaporePrior to the trip, we've arranged for a shuttle at the bus stop to bring us to the hotel but it did not come and we were standing in the cold for 10 mins. But after calling them, they quickly sent another one so we were stranded for about 20mins. It was quite a costly shuttle as they charged $90 euros to pick us up and send us to the hotel. But that's the only disappointment we've experienced during our stay.
Everything is perfect. Beautiful location, friendly staff and fantastic room and facilities. We were lucky and saw Aurora on our first night. The activities were well-planned too.

SingaporeWifi was not available in the room, which created minor inconveniences. The hotel itself is very deep in, so it can be quite pricey to arrange for transport in/out. The nearest bus stop is around 4km away too. We also got an aurora alarm which costed us 10 euros- but it only alarmed once during the stay. When there were fainter auroras, we relied on our own naked eye and went out to look for them (think it can ring more often).
The staff members in the property went above and beyond their call of duty to ensure we had a great stay, and I really appreciated their help! The property was peaceful and far out, making it a good option to view auroras. I really enjoyed the food selection here too. This was one of the cheapest glass igloo deals I could find in the area too, and I’m very thankful for that. We managed to catch some really pretty auroras during our one night stay there!

United StatesThat there was not wifi in the aurora cabins but after full days of activities I was really only sleeping there!
I don't know how anyone could rate this lovely place other than Wonderful! The breakfast was fabulous and the dinners were even better. The aurora cabins had their own sauna and beautiful views of the forest. There isn't wifi in the aurora cabins but there is at the reception and dining hall. My stay was amazing, even had 2 nights of the Aurora! The staff is amazing, friendly and super helpful!

GermanyPhenomenal customer service! Starting from the front desk that make everything possible to accommodate us as soon as we arrive eventhough it wasn't the check in time. The people who work on the kitchen who spoiled us to the maximum with the most exquisite food (seriously be prepared to taste some of the most amazing food in lapland)and the ladies and gentlemen that work serving and helping at the bar were fantastic staff and always with a smile, very friendly, making our holidays vacation a remarkable experience and super special. One thing I was very surprised was to see the different food choices. They have from gluten, vegan, vegetarian, lactose free, available for the guest(everything was delicious). Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Cabins are separate from one to another giving extra privacy. We booked a few activities at the recreational desk which make it more convenient because they help you choose what is best for your family.(all the activities include the winter gear so no need to stress out in case you are not prepare) We had such a blast exploring outdoors and we had the opportunity to see the aurora borealis. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

PortugalThe transfers and taxis are ridiculously expensive. a 5min transfer was 65€, even considering the conditions, the only alternative is by rental car (for a foreigner obviously). This should definitely be an included service given the resort's prices. There should be wi-fi on the main building's rooms. The food menu could use some improvement.
The place is in the middle of nowhere. With that in mind it is natural to have some logistic issues. Our first night was in a aurora cabin. Everything was fine, no Wi-Fi naturally. The water pressure was great as well as the temperature. Heating and blankets were almost unnecessary, it was nice and cozy inside. With -30ºC outside. The other nights were in the rooms in the main building (the one with the reception and catering) which is actually more comfortable. Lunch and Dinner had little variety but the food was ok, considering the conditions. We booked various activities with the resort. The price is similar to the rest we saw in Saariselka and Rovaniemi. The staff is Finnish. We are Portuguese, maybe we're used to friendlier people but we can see they make an effort. In general we enjoyed our stay here. Our opinion is that perhaps a bit overpriced for what it offers. We recommed though.

NorwayBooking.com says there is wifi. That's not correct. The wifi is just avaliable in the Main building. I see this as misleading marketing. The dinner was just buffet. Not a propper meal served on a plate. Dinner is not worth the money. I was expecting a plate with reindeer steak, lassange, pizza or sonething other great. The bed need a bedside table.
Breakfast was good. The dessert was very tasty. Chocolate mousse with dark chocolate. I would go to the Wilderness hotel in Inari next time. That one is the same price and much nicer.

FinlandRoom was quite hot even when heating was at minimum and outside temperature was belove 10°C, and there was no mosquito net on windows so we couldn't leave them open. Bathroom was roomy, and it would have been great for drying wet equipment, but there was no clothes lines or anything else to hang stuff.
Beautiful location and surroundings, fair price for the size of room.
