The location of Ahkun Tupa is wonderful. There is plenty of beautiful and accessible nature around but not a far drive from a larger town if supplies are needed, etc. It is very convenient and comfortable.

The beds are a bit hard. The carpet at the entrance looks a bit old. You have to bring your own bedlinen and towels, if you don't want that you have to pay for the bedlinen. We brought our own bedlinen, but I wonder if every tourist will do that too. So if I was the owner, I would higher up the price with €5 and lay clean bedlinen on the beds. The tourists can make their own beds.

Nice location, we were looking at 11 reindeers in a fence. It was a cosy cabin or cottage. The living room has a full equiped kitchen, fridge, watercooker, coffeemachine. All is very clean. There were 4 beds in the living room, you could sleep with 2 adults in 1 bed, but we found that too small. So we slept seperated. There is a sauna, a clean bathroom. You can beautifull walk over the Lemmenjoki River when it is frozen. So silent. Beautiful! And it is dark there, so we could see some Aurora, unless the kp index was very low, 1. The owners do have a restaurant, where you can eat par example a good filled reindeer soup with vegetables, or a salmon salade with a lot vegetables, or the specialty if the chef. For an acceptable price. It all tasted very well. The cottage is near the Lemmenjoki National Park, a great park to hike. There are snowscooters not allowed. The owners were very frienly and cared a lot of their reindeers.

For the bedlinen and towels you have to pay extra, ir bring it by yourself. We brought is by ourselves naturally, but I wonder if every tourist will do that. So if I was the owner, I highered up the price a bit and put clean sheets over the beds, for protecting your stuff.

The hostess was very friendly even we csme later than expected. We had a nice cabin even with a sauna. The cabin has it's own kitchen, fridge, microwave, watercooker, coffeemaker, pots, pans, dishes, kitchen utentils. It has toilet, shower and sauna as well. There were 4 beds, but a little bit small. So we decided to sleep separated, than you have a big space. The environment was very great, we have seen a little bit Aurora, unless the kp index was 1. The cottage is well warmed by electric heating. The cottage looks over 11 reindeers in a fence. The rest of the herd reindeers were somewhere in the firest. We had a beautiful hike over the frozen Lemmenjoki river. In the summer you can make boat trips over that river. The owner has a great respect and love for the animals and the forest. I like that very much. So be respectfull for the owners too. Lemmenjoki National Park is nearby, also great to hike, forbidden for a snowscooter. In the restaurant you can eat a great meal or have a delicious soup with reindeer meat. The environment is very quiet and silence.

Beds are not very je most comfortable.

Cozy cabin with everything you need next to the start of the walking routes of the nature reserve, and waking up you could see the reindeer & moose from the window of the cottage. Nice owners taking very good care of their guests.

Very beatiful place at lakeside. Very simple beds but comfortable enough to sleep well. There was malfunction in water system resulting in cut of water supply and shower 50 metres away, but that can happen in -25 degrees.

Water was frozen, but not a big issue since was possible to use shared equipment, and hot sauna. Just added a bit adventure to the trip!

Nice place somewhere nowhere in Finland. Friendly owners, clean equipment. Good to visit in summer time. Sad that we were only one night there.

No wifi in the private house, available only in the communal area which isn’t really a huge issue.

The owners were super friendly and welcome. The location is great and the view amazing! We also had the opportunity to feed the reindeers and see how amazing they are!!! Beautiful and a remarkable experience,thanks to their owners who didn’t hesitated to share with us a part of their daily life.

The beds weren't so comfortable. the tools for cooking are very essential.

We stayed in one of the four cabins available on the property. The cabin is conceived for backpackers that want to start their trekking from Ahjun Tupa or that arrive there to spend a few nights. The cabin provides the essentials for sleeping, cleaning and cooking. The beds are really essential, they don't provide sheets or towels. The place needed a bit of sweeping and it would increase its value with a bit more care.

Location in Lemmenjoki park close to the river. Spacious log cabin with sauna. It was clean and comfortable and it felt personal. We had beers and dinner in the evening. Awesome hiking in the stunning national park.

While the food in the restaurant was great, we found it a little too expensive for us.

We really loved closeness of nature and the skiing routes. The darkness during night helped give us an amazing view of the starry sky and the aurora. The cottage itself was warm, cozy and comfortable with enough equipment and kitchenware to cook most things we wanted to. Also the staff was very helpful and gave lots of useful/interesting information.

One of the nicest places I ever stayed at!! And the host ist just super friendly and lovely. I really enjoyed the conversations with her and felt welcome all the time. Akhun Tupa is such a beautiful place nearby the huge lake. We really had a good time and the owners are super nice. We could rent outdoor equipment. There is no light pullution, so it's the perfect spot for aurora. During our last evening a Moose stepped by. So it's a real authentic experience and we are planning on visiting again during summer.
