We still had to pay for some activities like tennis which, given the price and theme of the hotel, could be included. The indoor pool and sauna could also have a more extended schedule (it was from 10-18h). The water pressure in the rooms was very low which become a little annoying. You could tell the hotel is still going through some renovations after a change of ownership so I hope some minor things are improved next season.

The hotel decoration is really modern and tasteful and the common areas and rooms are all recently renovated. The indoor pool, sauna and gym are amazing! The hotel is great for people who enjoy sports and staying active during their vacation. The sea was warm and crystal clear. If you're not taking your car, there's a cheap shuttle (3€/person) from the city center to the hotel. Call ahead of time to get a schedule since this is not announced on Booking or the website!

The buffet. I wouldn’t recommend the buffet for dinner, but if you’re getting the breakfast for free, then you might as well do that.

A lot of stairs - we had a stroller with us and even thought ere was a funicular, there were still places where you had to use the stairs which made it impossible to walk around alone Rather big distances between places eg. Room to pool or outdoor pool to spa etc. Not suitable for someone who just wants to go from room to pool in 2 minutes.

Seemed like it was too busy for the staff. Had a couple of occasions where things like check-in and ordering food took a bit longer than expected.

Fun space. Great views and the room was very nice. Staff was very friendly. Resort space had a lot of great things to do, spaces to relax.

I think pool area outdoors need to be renovated. indoor pool area closes early at 6 pm. As well for the price you pay you expect a bit more detail to guests. Some things could be improved.

Location is beautiful in the middle of nature further to the city, nice beach near by, spacious rooms with good views balcony. Autentic place.

Beautiful facilities and access to the beach, big pool and sunbed area & towels provided. Rooms are large and spacious. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of hot and cold food. If you have reduced mobility I would definitely highlight prior to your stay and our room was up a hill and several flights of stairs however made the views spectacular. Only a 5/10minute drive into tossa de mar or you can get the boat from the beach into the town.

-Some accesses to various parts of the resort could be improved with a more intelligent way. If you have mobility issues this is not your place. -Hard to find someone at the reception desk at night -Overall the staff is great but they need some better management. Opening hours were not followed and some of the staff is indifferent to your needs and don’t go the extra mile for the price paid.

It’s a very aspiring project with great potentials. -The buffet was great value for money. I honestly don’t think they make a profit from the food -They go above and beyond for dogs, excellent welcome kit and very thoughtful details -Privacy and comfort. The rooms are great.

Be prepared for the extras - we were prepared for the Euro 25 for parking per day but if you want to use the beach then you have to pay euros 30 per person per day. If you want to use the loungers by the pool then you pay an additional Euro 100 per day!!! What this means is that the beach is empty and the pool area is empty except for the lifeguard and towel person and all the hotel guest stayed on top terrace. No one paid these excess charges and the beach and pool areas were empty - time to rethink this policy and make your hotel guests happy.

Would we return? Despite the hotel’s beautiful location and well-maintained property, the constant need to complain about basic services such as room cleaning and the indifferent attitude of the staff severely impacted our enjoyment. For a hotel in this price range, top-notch service and friendly staff should be a given. Sadly, this was not our experience, and it overshadowed what could have been a perfect vacation.

Hotel ZEL Costa Brava is undoubtedly a beautifully designed hotel situated in a stunning location. The aesthetic appeal of the hotel and its surroundings create an inviting atmosphere, making it an attractive option for travelers. The property boasts a range of facilities, adding to the overall experience. However, despite the impressive setting, the service and staff friendliness were disappointing and detracted significantly from our stay. Upon arrival, we were informed that check-in was available from 3:00 PM, but our room was not ready until 4:30 PM. This delay was frustrating, particularly after a long journey. When we finally accessed our room, our luggage, which we had been required to leave at reception, had still not been delivered. We had to wait even longer, and when our bags were finally brought up at 5:15 PM, we discovered one was missing. Initially, the staff denied having received the missing bag, leading to considerable stress and frustration. Fortunately, after further investigation, they managed to locate it, but the experience was far from ideal. The problems didn’t end there. For five consecutive days, we had to complain that our room was not being cleaned. Despite leaving the room by 10:00 AM each day and returning between 5:00-6:00 PM, housekeeping had not attended to our room, which was both inconvenient and unacceptable. Furthermore, the overall attitude of the staff was indifferent at best. The lack of warmth and effort to make guests feel welcome was evident. Most of the staff didn’t speak English properly and when we insisted to speak to the manager they declined our request stating that he was working. As for the dining experience, while the breakfast buffet was extensive and offered a wide variety of options, the overall quality of the food was mediocre, leaving much to be desired.

On the day of check in we were waiting almost one hour to check in on the reception. Stuff on reception was not very friendly. Also on the day of check out, before the time of check out cleaning came to the room when sign not to disturb was on.

The distance from the apartment to the reception and the swimming pool was far away. There were only two receptions available and even few times only one was on duty, causing a long queue, we almost missed our bus.

The amazing view and location, nice swimming pool next to the beach, very convenient. The hotel has an amazing interior design with natural woods, gives an amazing calming feeling. The room were we stayed was quiet and peaceful.

the staff were not very helpful, and so many unneccacery rules around the pool etc. our room was not always cleaned and we almost never got new towels. they say on their site that the hotel has 6 restaurants, but there is only one and we would not recommend that place at all. although the breakfast at the hotel was super nice.

gorgeous hotel and view, the fitness + spa place is great and the hotel rooms are very nice.
