Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainWe didn't want to leave, haha!
Juan Carlos's friendly welcome when he handed us the villa key was exceptional. His hospitality made us feel at home right away, and he was available to answer our questions and ensure we had everything we needed. His kindness made our stay even more special.

United KingdomNot a dislike but the location is in the hills not really walking distance to anywhere so you do need a car to get to and from the place.
The villa was beautiful and very well equipped for self catering. We stayed here after being at a wedding in the North of the island for a week. The outside space of the villa is amazing and the pagoda at the top is the perfect place to watch the sunset with a glass of wine and excellent views. The villa itself is very comfortable and clean inside.

BelgiumBeautiful location, amazing view on La Gomera and the sunset. The property is comfy and has all the basics. Bathroom are spacious. Bedroom are nice. The dishwasher dos not wash properly, basics equipment and small fridge in my opinion. Really calm neighborhood. Host a super welcoming and kind.

United KingdomAdditional crockery would be an asset, there were only 2 mugs and 2 breakfast bowls. These items were the most used, and needed washing up manually, so it made the dishwasher redundant.
position, atmosphere and the property was idyllic

United KingdomThis is just a feedback and not a drawback. As the location was on the hill, it would be nice to provide some basic items like milk, coffee powder, tea bags, salt, sugar etc so that if the guest arrive late or even forget to bring any of these items with them then they do not have to go down the hill to get them.
Very nice location and the villa had everything you needed and is very luxurious. The heated pool was very well maintained. Carlos and other were very friendly and helpful.

IrelandThe weather wasn't the best as we were slightly higher in the hills, but this isn't anything that could be avoided.
The Villa was Extremely Clean, Fairly Remote but not isolated. The pool was awesome with plenty of outdoor seating, sunbeds and fresh pool towels and it was heated too. Juan Carlos was a superb host and looked after us really well but didn't bother us unless we needed him. The view was super impressive too and we had a superb holiday at Villa Karla.

LithuaniaI couldn't say I didn't like it ir or it was a game changer, but since we are family with small kids there small things which could have been eliminated. I.e. it would be good to have enough usable household utensils: i.e. trash bags, toilet paper, kitchen paper, salt and etc. Some of them were there but in small quantity obviousy not for a week stay, some of them we needed to buy straight away.
Overall the villa is excellent. If you are looking for remotel luxury place with private pool and your own place which would be quite - this is spot on. Whole process we were constantly in touch with the owners (even though they don't talk english, they have found many ways to make it happen), once arrived we were greeted, showed around, The villa is in the mountains, so it is definitely only with people who have a car. Even though it was in the hillls even during Callima it wasn't windy, which I believe is perfect.

Germanyunfortunately there was no direct sea view, hindered by a wall (which should be at least 40 cm lower). The terasse which is somewhat outside the original space and which should give seaview, could not be used because of worn out coushions with unpleasant appearance. In one shower water doesn't properly run towards the drain but can easily run across the floor. To find the property upon arrival was an adventure and better directions should be given. The property name Kala is missleading because real name at entrance gate is Villas Vista Gomera No. 44 and Kala is inside and part of the fully enclosed property
excellent pool with temperature o.k. ; The villa/rooms, in perfect order and tasteful decorated. Space was enough for family (four persons)
