Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPaid for 4 star spa hotel and no balcony or kettle in the room! You at least get a kettle in a £30 travel lodge! Had to pay extra for a kettle!! Never got to use any of the spa facilities as over crowded with general public users. An area should be available for guests that have paid for a spa vacation! Food questionable!!
Beautiful setting

United KingdomThe hotel customer service was absolutely horrendous. Very poor customer service, not a single smile Dont facilitate anything for you, in fact they do the opposite. Breakfast wasn't good at all either. Too expensive for what they offer and not enough staff around No one seems happy around there.
The room maid was really nice and super helpful. Room was ok not worth the money. The spa is always great

SwitzerlandNo ironing board available, parking is quite far from the hotel, the bathroom was bad (rubbish shower), breakfast items were not replenished quickly. Very little English spoken. No in-room air con control (it’s controlled centrally, and was blowing hot air with 24 degrees outside).
Spa.

United KingdomIt is a lot to take in on arrival and it is all quite ‘foreign’. Pool/spa staff act as guardians rather than facilitators. (‘Charming, local colour…?’!)
This is a Spanish thermal spa resort in a lovely location by the Rio Segura. Don’t expect ‘a US /global’ luxury experience. This is a long way from the tourist areas and so do not expect staff to speak English etc. The Termas hotel is a gorgeous building (and is the best choice) - make sure that you go to floor -2 to see the old spa which dates from Roman times (still working) and the Arabic Dome on floor 1. Rooms are comfortable with fridge, air etc (no tea/coffee). There are 3 hotels, 2 bars and 2 restaurants on site. There are also bus loads of day trippers. The draw are the thermal pools which have been used continuously since Roman times. Free entry for guests to the massive indoor/outdoor complex which is enormously good fun whilst relaxing. Swim caps and flip flops are required and can be bought at pool reception. There is a ‘thermal circuit’ at extra cost which includes 15 saunas and pools. Numbers are limited and slots are for 2 hours. ‘Treatment’ and massage available.

United KingdomHotel: beautiful faded grandeur but decor tired.... Soundproofing between bedrooms very poor...we were awakened at 02.00 a./m. by next door's TV and other activities... Our bathroom ...on the ground floor above the Spa had a very sulphurous smell...presumably from the Spa below.... No coffee making facilities in a 4 ****?
Thermal Pool...excellent. Facilities...great. Setting...lovely.

United KingdomWould have enjoyed a kettle in the room and perhaps better quality toilet paper, but those are very small matters, the casino not only provide a wonderful atmosphere but also lovely coffee, and the beer is also good.
Superb stay as always, facilities are wonderful, rooms spacious and comfortable and the architecture is to die for. Who cares about the rain with warm water to play and swim in. Thank you for being the saviour for our holiday.

United KingdomThe food was a little basic, but adequate and reasonable value. Unfortunately we had a flood in our bathroom floor (which was dangerously slippy) during the night which meant we were unable to have a shower in the morning we left. I thought they may have offered me some recompense for that, eg. a voucher or something to use in the future but that did not happen and I did not ask.
The experience was exceptional, the thermal pools and especially the Archena massage by Miriam who was soooo helpful as I have mobility problems. I believe they should make more mention of the underground Roman baths which were amazing.

SpainIt was quite a chilly walk in a toweling robe from the hotel to the spa in February. I'm not sure what happens if it rains. Our robes were 'removed' while we were in the spa by person or persons unknown, so we both lost our prescription glasses which were in the pockets. It is going to cost hundreds of Euros to replace them. While the staff members were pleasant they were not overly concerned.
The spa was nice, but for the price we paid for the hotel we were not pleased at having to pay so much extra for the circularium which was not for massages or treatments, but more hot water pools and saunas. The evening meal was also a little pricey.

SpainThe food in both restaurants was very substandard. We couldn't eat most of it but because we ate some we were told we had to pay. There was nowhere else to eat so we picked what was just about edible or we would have been hungry. One of my guests is ill today with sickness and diarrhea. Some of the treatments weren't quite up to expectations. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. It was barely 2 star.
Location, spa and pools were lovely.

United KingdomExtremely noisy, didn’t sleep one good night in eight nights. Paper thin hollow walls. No access to basement thermal area unless paid for treatment. Had a Archena massage with mud, after mud, was made to wait 45minutes in corridor until massage with no communication.. certainly not a relaxing experience. The information is misleading on the complex description. Customer service: not once were we asked if our stay was going well.
The breakfast was good. Wat’s app communication from English speaking lady helpful.
