Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
Politically sensitive comments
Promotional content
Illegal activities
Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
Spam and fake content
Animal cruelty
Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Parking was a problem - we finally found a space 0.5km away and lugged our suitcase through the village.

The AC would be nice, especially because the waves were quite loud. Also there were no place to hang the wet clothes and in the bathroom there was no shelf or drawer to store the toiletries.

The hotel is 3 stars, and we rested in a 5-star hotel. Great view of the ocean. The hotel itself is located right in the ocean! There is also a view of the southern shore of El Medano. Leaving the hotel, you can visit many cafes, restaurants and the embankment. Sometimes they construct a stage with live music! The hotel itself has a very tasty breakfast and very friendly staff. You will be greeted like beloved relatives, the room will be cleaned qualitatively and provided with a transfer to the hotel and the airport. I recommend it to everyone!
P.S. In honor of my birthday they made me a delicious dessert :)

The only downside was the breakfast — while there was a wide selection, the quality and freshness of the food could be improved. I missed having more fresh fruit and salads, and the sweet pastry selection was quite disappointing.
Also, the double room had two separate beds, each about 80 cm wide, which wasn’t the most comfortable for a couple.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay. The staff was amazing and incredibly friendly! The hotel itself and its location are excellent, and overall, it was definitely worth staying here.

The major negative point is that I went during the weekend, because the place is like an island, the buses to connect Medano with other cities or with the airport are coming once every hours, so if you miss one bus you will likely wait hours to get the next connection, meaning that you might risk to get isolated. Moreover I used Google to synchronize with the bus timetable, but it was unreliable: you should use the local application for the buses, but also in this case buses are always with delay.
If you are considering to explore the cities around, this place could limit your movements if you don't have a car.
I went in low season, meaning that the hotel was almost empty. This was indeed something positive. The Internet connection is good and the kindness of the reception is really good. The room is just essential, don't expect anything than the basics.
The hotel is offering a continental breakfast, so you have a large variety of food that you could test, both if you like a salty or a sweet breakfast.
Inside the hotel there is a terrace where you could enjoy your cocktails facing to the sun, with some good privacy.
The hotel is at 0 meters from the beach, you just exit from the hotel and you are already swimming. Keep in mind that the water is oceanic, meaning that you could find colder than elsewhere.
If you have kids, there is a public kinder park right in front of the hotel. The park is really good for kids between 2 and 8 years old.
Just out of the hotel there are many bars, restaurants, I tested some, and all with a high quality. You will eat well.
Just at 30 minutes walking there are two small hills that you could visit if you like to make some hiking (30 more minutes to go up).
Medano is a small island of peace, where you have enough things just next to you, if you just want to relax without making a step, this is an excellent choice.
