Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe bedrooms were a little too warm and we couldn’t get the temperature controls to work, as this was for a weekend in April it wasn’t too much of an issue but if I was here in the summer I would have investigated the controls more thoroughly!
The property was in an ideal location for exploring Alicante and we were able to walk everywhere. The Apartment although surrounded by other properties was very quiet. We were a party of three couples and this spacious, beautifully decorated apartment was ideal, plenty of space to all sit together without feeling overcrowded.

United KingdomStruggled with the air conditioning and setting different temperatures in the bedrooms. Would have been helpful to have some instructions on how to operate electrical items in the apartment. We could have utilised so much more if we had been able to work out how to use things, including the air con. Would have liked to have a mirror in bedrooms 3 and 4.
Excellent location. Lovely modern apartment and well kitted out. Very good central base with only a short walk to shops, bars and restaurants. Tram station nearby if you want to explore the area further afield.

United KingdomTo be honest we were really disappointed by this apartment and felt that the photos did not really provide an accurate picture of it. As a group of friends we had thought it would be better to have an apartment but we really did not feel relaxed or want to spend any time there. The apartment is both very modern and very dated at the same time. There are lots of textured walls, smoked glass doors and rather spangly fixtures and fittings which were just a bit odd. There is also just too much confusing technology and the lighting is generally very harsh. No lamps at all in the living area. When we arrived there was strong smell of cooked fish throughout the apartment which lingered throughout our stay and didn’t really subside. We bought air freshener which itself is not pleasant. The kitchen was not very well equipped. As it was we did not feel like eating or drinking in the apartment but there were only 4 mugs for an apartment that caters for 8 people. The internal corridor to the bedrooms was lit by strange strip lights and the 2 en-suite bedrooms had no external windows. Only one en-suite bedroom had any form of dressing table so there was nowhere to put makeup/toiletries and this was the same in the bathrooms which had no shelves or space even for toothbrushes. The main bathroom had no lock on the door. There were no mirrors at all in the 2 non en-suite bedrooms. I didn’t check the other rooms but the hairdryer in my room was old, had an English plug and totally ineffective. Whilst the apartment was superficially clean (and we met the very pleasant cleaning team when we arrived) it really needed a deep clean. The extractor fans in the bathrooms were caked in dust, the grouting was very grubby, the carpets in the bedrooms were stained and skirting boards were in need of a good scrub. I don’t generally leave negative reviews but we had relied on the other positive reviews and felt they may be misleading for some.
This is a difficult review to write as it is hard to say precisely what I felt about this property. It is very large and in a good position. The beds were comfortable and the showers were good with plenty of hot water. There is a washing machine, ironing board and irons and a variety of coffee machines. I suspect the balcony would be a bonus in warmer months but it is poorly furnished (just a table and chairs in a very large space) and due to it being surrounded by buildings on all sides gets little sunlight The rental agency were very good and responsive and provided a facility to leave our luggage.
