Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location of this hotel is a winner!! We took one bus from the airport that dropped us off within 5 minutes walking distance. It is located just 1-2 blocks off of the main Gran Via street. It's easily accessible to major attractions and public transportation yet it's on a quiet enough street with a few restaurants, a grocery store, and a pharmacy close by. For our three nights, the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, it included a mini fridge, adequate outlets, and the bathroom was the biggest we had in our 3 weeks of travel. The AC was not very cool, barely sufficient in the warm temperatures. The warm breakfast was not outstanding, but good. Breakfast would be worth the cost when included in the room reservation. Both Paco and Sergio were helpful in answering questions or in making suggestions. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily stay there again.

AustriaAir conditioning was blowing straight at the bed, which made it impossible to use at tight. In Madrid AC is essential. The green light at the exit of the room was so bright that one could not sleep. This hotel is good for 3 stars. But four is definitely too much.

United StatesThe hotel is in the most perfect location. Lots of shops, restaurants for locals and tourists in the area and is only a block away from Gran Via, El Corte Ingles, the Opera. It's about a 15 minute walk to Salamanca, Plaza Mayor, Prado.

United Kingdomthe only inconvenience was that the air conditioning stopped working for no apparent reason when we came back from dinner. We were too tired to try and get it sorted, and managed an OK night's sleep.
The location is fabulous, and the room was spacious and well maintained, especially the bathroom. The staff we met were friendly. We had a street-facing first floor room, so worried it might be noisy but we didn't notice anything with the window closed.

South Africa1. The hotel is in the middle of an area with a few bars and it is very noisy when the windows are open. It was especially noisy because of gay parades and gatherings on the street where the hotel is. (Last week of June is a gay week) 2. There is not one tv channel in English in the hotel. Very frustrating. The front desk person suggested that I use my own internet. Strange. 3. There is no floor length mirror in the room. 4. The beds are way too soft. 5. The hand soap was not replaced often. 6. The hotel is overpriced.
The room was big in a very central location.

United StatesI loved the location! It was the perfect spot to start each morning because it was right in the center by Puerto del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and C/ Preciados. It was also a nice walk to Retiro and Atocha.

United StatesOur room was a bit smaller than I’d expected and the bed was a true double so on the small side for me and my much taller partner. With that said, that’s generally to be expected and I was not surprised at all. Some light maintenance needed—the window latch was not attached properly and the ceiling vent for the A/C fell down while we were out during the day, exposing the air duct; they were to fix the following day, after we had checked out. Finally, it’s not super convenient for public transportation as the nearest Metro stop is a bit of a walk.
Fantastic location—lots of “must see” places within walking distance. The staff was extremely helpful and kind; we especially appreciated the main server in the restaurant who welcomed us to breakfast each morning. Additionally, the desk staff were lovely and helped accommodate all of our extra asks (like purchasing extra water, needing forks, etc). Would definitely consider staying here again.

United Stateshigh rate for a Saturday stay issues with room 401 wiring. plugged in phone and they were charging and in morning were totally discharged. had to wait 2 more hours in the morning to charge up. happened twice. second night made sure it was charging after turning off light. worked the second night. third night totally discharged phones again we were pick pocketed / backpacked right out side of the hotel by two men pretending to be tourists. be careful. they unzipped our backpack. only had toilet paper in there so no $ loss
location good try the tiger bar a few doors down from the hotel. if you buy a drink they give you free tapas. not the best but best price.
