Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

France- The lift in the building sometimes does not work. This is really hard if you have suitcase and are on the 5th floor - Clubs/bars nearby, I could hear the noise through the windown all night + the traffic, I did not get a good night sleep in one week - Floor timber is extremely noisy, when someone is walking outside, it's like they are in your room, i had to wake up in the middle of the night - Walls really thin, you could hear everything from the other room
Room comfortable, good wifi, location near shops and supermarket

Czech RepublicYou have to go to a different address for check-in. It was very hard to find out what the WiFi password was – even the staff didn't know! I asked two different people and both times I received an incorrect password. Finally, I got the password from another guest. There is a nightclub in the same building and people would usually gather outside during the night. If you sleep with your window open, be prepared that it might get loud. There is no toilet paper in the bathrooms. You get one roll for free in your room but you have to bring it with you when you go to the bathroom.
The room corresponded to the photos. There is no AC but the ceiling fan was good enough. I was on the top floor and had a really nice view from my balcony. There was a well-equipped common kitchen and multiple bathrooms.

GermanyI travel a lot but I've never been in as bad as this accommodation before in my life. I stayed in room 109 it's between 2 bathroom and I could literary hear everything when someone used the WC or took a shower. I contacted them they said we are full, I even called the police but unfortunately they could do nothing. I went to them other hotel early morning next day because the reception is there and it's about half hour walking explaining them everything and asking them if they have another room and I want to pay more. They said we are fully booked but if someone cancelled his booking we will contact you. They contacted me after 4 days, they said there is a room on 5th floor if I want to change my room but it's on the main street and they are working there whole day so it's not quiet as well. I told them no because I will face the same problem. I stayed 8 nights in this accommodation and it was really a horrible. Even the window in my room 109 couldn't close completely .

United KingdomFirst, the key collection process was unnecessarily cumbersome. Instead of providing a code online, they require you to leave the airport and visit an "office" (essentially a receptionist at a separate address). There, you sign a contract—something that could easily be handled online—and receive an access code. This added an extra 30-minute walk between the office and the apartment, which was definitely avoidable. Second, the apartment itself was adequate, but there were issues. We received just one towel, which they did not replace until the following day. The bedroom is next to a hostel-style apartment, and the walls are extremely thin—you can hear everything. One night, a neighbour had a phone conversation from midnight until 3 am, and I could hear every word from both sides of the phone. The hostel door bangs loudly throughout the night, and small gatherings happen regularly. If you stay here, bring earplugs or you will struggle to sleep. Third, while the apartment wasn't dirty, the sofa cushions had mould on them, which is unacceptable (I have photos). The coffee machine is old and unbranded, with no pods or guidance on how to use it, which made it useless. The kitchen also lacked basic items, like a salt shaker and the usual tea or coffee supplies you’d find elsewhere. It felt like the kitchen was stocked with discarded items. Overall, I was excited about my stay but ended up disappointed. A little more investment—like new cushion covers, basic kitchen supplies, or coffee pods—could have made a big difference. However, the issue with the thin walls needs more serious attention.
The bed was comfortable, the location was great. But that is about it.

Germany've been here since Monday and it's not getting any better. Once again a lot of disturbance from parties in front of the house, no wifi or still no access to it, both bathrooms mostly occupied, no real duvets, just a big white sheet, Definitely bed bugs in the bed. Because of the wooden floor in the hallway, there is extreme noise disturbance all night in Front of the Hotel between 2 and 5 o clock in the night. Drunken, Screaming people. Windows cannot be closed and so every night becomes an absolute nightmare and does not serve as a rest. You lose half a day because you can only get up between 5 and 12 o'clock.Comes to sleep

PolandCheck in is in a very far location from this place. The room number was not indicated. The elevator is not going to the last floor of the building. The sofa was broken, from Friday to Monday nobody came to repair it even if I called a few times to reception (which is in the other location where you check in) A glass with water was in the kitchen from someone. Very noisy. No air conditioning. The floor is partially broken. Cleaning only once a week. The bathroom is from the last century. Pictures are beautiful in booking but the reality is everything is in terrible condition or in a bad state. Cheers

IrelandThe room had no AC, which was disclosed in the property details, however, what wasn't disclosed is that the room had no windows except for a tiny window that was covered in plastic. This meant no ventilation in the room unless you opened the door. The fan is useless if all it does is recycle the same hot air in the room. My partnered suffered from a heatstroke and being inside the room was almost as unbearable as being outside in 42 degrees. I think it's irresponsible to rent such a room in the summer in Madrid without an AC unit. Furthermore, there were other little details like the coffee machines not working and the lack of utensils, pots and pans in the kitchen.
The location is conveniently close to supermarkets, pharmacies and parks. When the weather permits and the heat is bearable, it's within walking distance of many landmarks and tourist spots in the city. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, except for the lack of AC.

NorwayIt’s ok for the price in the off season/colder timers but would not recommend in the summer as the fan is blowing hot air and the room is like a furnace.. I brought some vitamin gummies that melted in the matter of one hour. Avoid if you’re a tourist. Also the rooms is suuuuper dusty, so much so that it triggered allergies even though I didn’t have any dust allergies.

LithuaniaCleanliness aspect is beyond belief. Not only common places (bathrooms, I never used kitchen) are left a mess after use, staff doesn't keep a check on these places. My room was full of balls of dust. Also, once you arrive, you have to get keys from a different place, which isn't very close. When I reached my room ~2hrs after agreed upon check-in time, staff was just coming over to prepare room, so had to wait additionally. That night I found multiple bugs in room, contacted reception regarding my hygiene and safety concerns and they never replied (only after check-out when I informed about leaving key). I feel like this place needs a lot of work

United StatesNo Air Conditioning. Unbearable heat in the top floor and no refund for this inconvenience.
The location did not have air conditioning. It was a top floor, where the heat is unbearable, and only counting with a ceiling fan that only medium speed was operable. Would have been great to know that this unit did not have an air conditioning before booking, The staff did not handle the situation well and I did not receive my money back. Absolutely do not recommend staying here if you want to save your money and have somewhere to stay with air conditioning. It is Madrid in the middle of the summer and the heat is unbearable, This should have been disclosed on the reservation. Absolutely terrible.
