Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property is a renovated 17th century farmhouse, beautifully restored and decorated with lovely additional decoration, the owners are a lovely couple who really look after you. It's a small hotel with only 7 rooms, it doesn't have a bar (as such) but they can supply local beer and wine and absolutely marvellous homemade lemonade, the food is all fresh and homemade or locally supplied.and is superb. This hotel would not suit everyone as it is quite remote in a small village but a lovely location

United KingdomSlightly limited breakfast if you're a vegetarian.
It was great to arrive after a long day in the saddle, we had booked the spa for shortly after our arrival, which was a delight and well maintained. Although there is no air-con, it was cool enough with the buildings' thick walls, despite it being unusually warm for the time of year. There are only ½ dozen rooms or so, so it had a feeling of being quite exclusive and ideal for a quiet weekend in the countryside and astonishingly good value for money. The traditionally furnished rooms offer simple economy with a small bath and hand shower but perfectly adequate. There was plenty of storage and hanging space and a pleasant view from our room. The restaurant, Romy Casa De Comidas, a 9 minute walk down the road is exceptional, and I would strongly recommend booking a table here to coincide with a stay at the hotel. Ideally placed too for the 45 minute ride to Bilbao should you want an overnight stop for the ferry.

United KingdomWe just couldn’t fault it
We were made very welcome. The hotel was spotlessly clean. It is an old country house with original features. The attention to detail was lovely - a fresh hydrangea in the bathroom, lovely toiletries. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious and overlooking the garden. Voile curtains floating in the breeze which I liked. The breakfast was amazing. There were fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, homemade jams, local bread and yogurt and muffins (which we asked to take away as we couldn’t manage them!). Our ‘waitress’ (sorry I didn’t get her name) surprised us by speaking in flawless English! If this were in Italy it could be classed as a top agritourismo. We would love to return sometime and can’t recommend it highly enough.

SpainThe least suitable was the typical weather of Cantabria, which rained almost every day, although even in the hotel you could spend the rainiest days still pleasantly resting. There is no doubt that you have to be aware of the weather forecast to focus on the days when the weather is good in Cantabria.
The hotel was really exceptional. The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and with many nice details that allow a very pleasant stay. The gardens were very neat and pretty , with a relaxation area for the afternoons to have a drink. Despite everything, the most remarkable was undoubtedly the careful attention of the owners, who from the first moment acted almost like a "tourism agency", highlighting the most important routes and excursions in that region of Cantabria, and willing to solve all the doubts that we raised. The breakfasts were very generous, with an exquisite and varied homemade pastries, which completed the traditional continental breakfasts. In conclusion, a "mansion" of the society of the "Palacios de Cantabria", well renovated and with a very detailed personalized attention.
