Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location was central and although our stay was in January and most places closed we would recommend to anyone especially those who wish to walk and visit the castle- possibly the best castle in the area ?

SpainThe town was extremely quite on a Thursday night (it was winter, so that´s understandable) and the restaurant, La Cochera, that is attached to the hotel was closed for dinner. Our problem was we couldnt find any restaurant that would accept dogs inside so we got a very good takeaway pizza (albeit pricey!) from El Arco and ate in the room. This isnt really a criticism of the hotel, more just something for people hoping to eat in the nearest nice restaurant, or take their dogs for dinner, to bear in mind. Also, for anyone wanting more of a traditional hotel experience - reception desk, communal salon areas etc - this is not it. There was a pretty little courtyard but other than that we only had access to our room. It really didnt matter though as the room was so big!
The room was HUGE and really nicely decorated (French farmhouse chic). The bed was also HUGE and extremely comfortable. The owners had gone to every length to make our stay feel really special - from the very good instructions to access to property, to the complimentary local gifts to eat and drink. Despite not offering breakfast (there is a DIA supermarket 5mins walk away where we bought fresh croissants) they do offer tea and a very nice coffee machine in the room. The bathroom had everything you´d need - gels, a hairdryer etc. Massive TV and fast Wifi. Its in the middle of the pretty little town but there´s a large park 1min walk away where we could run our dog safely off the lead. Would also be good for kids as there were two playground areas. Parking also effortless right outside the property.

SpainThe photos with the pool in the cave are not from this location. You have to book the pool and pay extra if you want to use it. It is located in another property in the town.
Really nice apartment in the city center

Beautiful interiors, stunning outdoor pool area to relax in and the kids absolutely loved the underground cave pool too. Delicious breakfast and friendly attentive staff who gave great recommendations of what to do and where to eat. We loved our stay! Thank you.

United KingdomVillage very quiet in June with limited eating options.
A wonderful find on our tour of Spain. We booked La Casa de la Vieja but were upgraded to the El Balsamo hotel. Superb boutique style hotel in an old restored building with very high quality finishes and much attention to detail. Delightful outdoor pool and very special heated cave pool. Coffee and tea facilities and honesty bar. Lovely breakfast on the terrace. Impressive castle and historic buildings close by. Enthusiastic, welcoming hosts. Excellent value for money.

Spainthe house is old and therefore the windows are retro not soundproof (though they are very cute). if you are a light sleeper, better take the plugs.
It is very spacious, with nice retro design, clean, has a common kitchen, which became very handy for us as we came when all the restaurants were closed. there is coffee machine and nice choice of capsules. the hosts are very helpful and visiting the cave pool is a must after long travel. the town itself is very charming, small and safe, with gorgeous castle and forest behind it.

United KingdomThese are all minor details - the water in the pool could have been warmer. The beams in the bedroom are charming but if you are over 1.80m tall you might want to watch your head 😉. The walls are a bit thin noise travels eg the beds creaked from one room where the children were could be heard in the other.
The staff were lovely, the decoration beautiful, great local information and superb location. Romantic and good for families too. Good wifi.
