Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsHotel up the hill in the village, with great views. The staff is super friendly and they are really trying to give you the best time. The breakfast was delicious and not expensive, with home made jam that is really good. A lot of hikes are in this area.

GermanyI feel that whoever was in charge of reception didn't do their job well. We were instructed to call a number when we arrived to follow directions about how to get in. My Spanish isn't particularly good but I tried my best and was met with an impatient tone on the phone. We didn't feel welcome or like valued guests. There was never a receptionist, even when the friendly cleaner said they should be there, so we couldn't check in. Additionally, I had paid for the room in advance but they kept insisting that we hadn't and we had to show proof. It would have improved our experience to have been treated in a more personable manner.
We were given room 101 on the ground floor, close to reception. The rooms with cute wooden balconies were above us. We had a comfortable outdoor seating area for our personal use and it's possible to watch the sunset over the sea from there. The double bed was composed of two single mattresses and was about 2m wide, so that's a bonus if you like a large bed. Although tiny and not really large enough to be comfortable, the room has been decorated with lovely character. I really liked the overall look and vibe of the place and the surrounding streets. It's a ten minute walk from the sea front.

All the staff are lovely. My room was great. I have stayed here before and got the same room which is number 201. It has a balcony and the best view. At night you can hear the waves in the distance. A very chilled hotel and fantastic value.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like, it was nice being away from the large chain soulless hotels.
Room had all I needed, private facilities, air con, internet & fridge. Nice terrace to sit out in the evening. Breakfast was superb with fresh fruit, jams, meat, cheese and variety of bread and cereal. Bit of a treck up from seafront but I actually liked being up on the hillside. Very quaint.

United KingdomIt was a very peaceful hotel with wonderful views of Valle Gran Rey and the mountains from our lovely wooden balcony. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was set in La Calera which is a historic area with little streets without cars. We would definitely stay there again. Staff were very friendly especially Lucy and Conchi.

IrelandUnfortunately the holder for our shower head was broken so we had to hold it when showering or try to balance it. A small inconvenience and it didn't ruin our stay by any means, but a simple fix for the next guests. :)
Set in the lovely hills of La Calera, Hotel Jardín Concha was the perfect place to stay during our visit to Valle Gran Rey. We really enjoyed the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere of Hotel Jardín Concha and La Calera. Only a short walk brings you to the other busier areas - La Playa, Puntilla and Vueltas - to the beaches, cafes and restaurants. The room was perfect - very bright and clean - and had everything that we needed. The breakfast was great, staff super friendly and we were also so lucky to have a large terrace with sun loungers, a table and chairs, and wonderful view of the sea. We spent some sunny days relaxing and having lovely lunch with local veg and mojo from the nearby vegetavle producers. We would highly recommend staying at Hotel Jardín Concha for anyone looking to explore Valle Gran Rey and Lá Gomera.

Perfect spot, very peaceful. Easy stroll to beach and restaurants. Room and bathroom a little small for staying a few days. Breakfast good and great views from balconies. NB You can’t get a car to hotel . Quite a lot of steps to it. I don’t think this is made obvious enough. in the end it was not bad once one had got the suitcases there .
