Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Irelandthere was a light over the door that had no switch to turn off...it was very dim. a bit like an emergency light.. .but I couldn't find a switch for it..so there was a bit of light on all night...the shower is a disaster... it's absolutely tiny...i had a turn sideways to get into it.. (I'm not that big) definitely the smallest shower I've ever been in..and the bracket on the wall to hold the head of the shower was broken..so you had to hold the shower head, shouldn't be a big problem except the cubicle is so small that once inside it you're hitting the control handle with your arms, you're back... and your arms are touching the opposite sides of the cubicle......it really let the room down, it's a real pity.. would I go back?..I probably would and hope that I was unlucky with that particular shower
the location is great..the town is absolutely stunning... the reception girl was lovely...i loved the creaking wooden staircase and floors..it has real character...the bed was the most comfortable I've stayed in on this trip..ac works perfectly...the room was a good size.. parking for my motorbike just a few steps away on the street outside..

New ZealandThe noise from the bar downstairs kept us awake 2 of the 3 nights. It started around midnight and didn’t stop until 3am. Even earplugs didn’t block out the beat.
The location was excellent. The room very comfortable.

United KingdomThe location was excellent for the city centre, food and facilities. It was a long trek up hill from the bus stop where the service from the fast train station arrives. We didn't find out about local services within the city until after we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe bed, although it looked great was not firm enough to support 2 people. Your only option is rolling into the centre of the bed in the middle of the night (perhaps this is just one bed out of all of them). The decor needs some love and attention now.
Great location for the city. The property was a great traditional town house/hotel with authentic wooden floors, windows and balconies with street views. Friendly, welcoming staff and great comms.

China- on weekends it’s very loud since there will be performances outside - there is no noise insulation given the hotel is in a very central location - the building is a bit dilapidated, but that’s just the way the building is
- amazing staff and super attentive all the time - very central location and is close to bars plaza mayor etc - heater in the room which is perfect for this weather - warm blanket if needed in the closet - very clean in general

United StatesI had specifically asked if there was a refrigerator, and there was indeed a mini fridge, but it was not plugged in. When I plugged it in to try to get it to cool down, it shocked me every time I touched it. The receptionist did let me put the a few things I had in the mini fridge in the reception area, but a fridge that gives electric shocks is alarming! Also, the Wi-Fi didn’t work most of the time.
Good location, plenty of space for four people.

United StatesNoise next to my room as it was next to the laundry/storage/work room (so staff a bit noisy in morning when working hallways or entering/exiting that room) but I overlook because everything else including owner were wonderful.
Hosteria Natura was a GREAT BARGAIN and beautiful place for those who appreciate antiques. Owner was GREAT and accomodating. Place was CLEAN and conveniently located NEAR everything. We walked from here to all of Segovia's main attractions - the castle, the aqueduct, the shops, restaurants. I loved this place and felt right at home! It's well run and common areas as well as bedrooms are uniquely decorated to compliment the beauty of Segovia's rich past. If you are seeking modern/contemporart go elsewhere if you appreciate history, antiques and simply a charming SAFE place to stay - this is it and the value is EXCELLENT!
