The location was perfect for exploring some of the most beautiful parts of the Pico de Europa park. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was great and the dinner set menu was excellent value. The room was comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this hotel for the price and location.

Super, unpretentious, honest little family-run hotel on a small road and river at the foot of a staggering limestone gorge - an incredibly lovely setting, minutes on foot from the start some of the most famous and beautiful trails in the Picos. A most kind and genuine local family run it, working all the hours to provide clean rooms, an all-day bar service and a full menu of simple, tasty home-cooked dishes in their restaurant, where a full 3 course dinner with wine included for just €14 represents outstanding value. The bedroom was clean and attractive, the bed and pillows comfortable, it had the private bathroom I had booked, with a good supply of hot water, towels and toiletries. The central heating in my bedroom was good - and very welcome - too. I was very grateful to the helpful blogger (shout out to kevmrc) who first drew my attention to the Hostal Poncebos as the best place to stay for exploring this part of the Picos. I wholly agree!

The location for hiking the trails is perfect, the setting for the hotel breath taking. The property is called a hostal but we found it more like a 3 star hotel with our on suite room. The staff were amazing, the food local and so fresh and amazing value, I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The only difficult part about hostal poncebos is getting there, but it isn’t too difficult. There are Alsa buses that connect from Unquera/Bustio to las Arenas de Cabrales and from las Arenas to the hostel. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about.

The location was incredible, a 5-10 minute walk from a couple beautiful trails in el parque de los picos. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff was kind and helpful. I highly recommend hostal poncebos.

The walls were a bit thin and the bed was very firm. But we were so exhausted from our hikes that it did not bother us one bit.

We liked hostel especially for the price. It provided an inexpensive place for us to rest and provided everything that we needed during our stay: towels, linens, and breakfast. The window blinds were a nice bonus.

The breakfast was nothing special, but it was off season so.. Bathrooms are shared but quite clean and close to the bedrooms.

The location is just amazing! Right on top of the river that runs down the mountain. Simple hotel for say in for a few nights!

This simple, clean, and comfortable hostal was perfect for our stay the night before hiking the Ruta del Cares. Our room was very clean and beds very comfortable, with plenty of warmth on a cold October night. We enjoyed a beer in the bar before having a tasty and affordable dinner in the restaurant with a fireplace and overlooking the rushing river. The staff was efficient and very helpful. We’d definitely recommend this spot when hiking the area!

Very helpful staff. Good value meals during the day and in the evening. The room was cleaned every day. It is a hostal and not a hotel. What you get is clean good value rooms and food served by helpful staff

Our room was a little small and kind of tacky, but hey, it's a one-star place and it was inexpensive.

I really liked this stay. It was a perfect resting point for the Picos de Europa area. The bathrooms are separate from the rooms but they’re plenty of bathrooms and there’s a sink in the rooms. Staff was lovely and had great patience for my attempts at speaking Spanish. Breakfast was included and was quite filling and the restaurant in general was pretty delicious.

Walls do not have any soundproof. Could hear praticaly everything that neighbors talking.

Super location to start hikes. Awsome place to stay, high mountains surronding and cool river just in fronf of the house. Staff really helpful and friendly.

Fantastic location for Cares hike. Great resturant & bar both high quality and inexpensive. Staff very friendly. Double room super clean with crisp fresh bedding and pristine ensuite with lovely towels.
