Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLots of stairs but could not do much about it.
Breakfast was excellent. Xavier and Mia were very warm and welcoming. The location is co-located with the castle and lots of restaurants to choose from. Thanks Mia for booking our train for Madrid.

SwedenThe room, the place, the owners, location. Everything was over expectations! The room is cute and clean. The bed is comfy. They have this note in a room that says there are extra pillows in the wardrobe in case you can’t sleep on pillows provided (all pillows are different). That says everything about the owners: helpful, down to earth and kind. In the bathroom I was pleasantly surprised to see cotton pads, body milk and micellar water. Rooftop is gorgeous with plenty of plants and big lounge area, including a sun bed. Great location, in the middle of old town, everything is close by, even the beach!

SwitzerlandThe room was excellent, and the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the middle of the winding streets in the castle. Very good restaurant and cocktail bar attached. The staff were amazing, and incredibly kind towards my dog which I really appreciated.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and always good-humoured; the location was perfect on Calle San Roque near the Plaza de Armas in the historic old town; the hotel had plenty of atmosphere, character and charm, inside and outside, and we were assigned the "Templarios", a double room on the 2nd floor with a small balcony overlooking the street; breakfast was made to order and excellent! Although challenging, we were able to drive our rental car up to the Plaza de Armas to drop-off our overnight luggage - Miia having provided our licence plate number to the police well in advance of our stay - and we subsequently found free parking in the harbour area.

United KingdomFor us, we loved it all, but appreciate it may not be to everyone”s taste ie if you struggle to walk up hills and stairs - the real beauty of this establishment is the location and the hardworking nature of the owners and staff who are committed to making your stay the best it can be; so if you want the buzz and eclectic atmosphere of being in the old town it’s perfect; if not then you may want to think more carefully about where you reside during your stay in Peñíscola- For us, PERFECTO!
Everything - it’s quirky and eclectic, and represents the warmth and represents the aspirations of our hosts who did everything to make our stay very memorable - we have booked to return later in the year. The location is excellent, being right in the heart of the old town, though travel light as getting up into the old town from the front can be challenging for the less fit. We really appreciated having one of the rooms on the top floor, though again some might find the stairs a bit of a challenge, as you have your own private south-facing terrace and aces to the roof terrace, so great for sunbathing and relaxing away from the crowds. We loved the B&B/our hosts/their establishment (restaurant and bar: food and drinks) and the location. The effort to get up the hill was very well worth it.

The perfect inn for a stay in the shadow of the Game of Thrones castle. It felt authentic and genuinely part of the culture and landscape, while still being a distinctive and individual thanks to the cultural mix of the owners.

United KingdomEverything was good.
Superb location in the old town near the castle. Being low season many restaurants and shops were closed but this was situated in the busiest part which meant that there was a good atmosphere and a few places to choose for eating and drinking. The owners were excellent hosts and provided everything with patience and good attitude. Very nice touches like blankets available for when sitting outside and an excellent breakfast.

United StatesThe stairs are narrow ( no elevator). My shoulders had 6-8 inches on each side. 45 steps from bottom to third floor. I am 75 and managed fine but someone who has problems with stairs or a lot of heavy luggage would find it inconvenient, although Mila took one of our suitcases up to the room. I managed the rest.
Room was small but beautifully decorated. Javiar and Mila could not have been more gracious. Breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order, we ate dinner there both nights because we knew the quality we were getting. Best hamburger I had in a long, long time. Would recommend here if you want to stay near the castle. Narrow streets and passageways and if you don’t mind getting a little lost, ( but everybody is helpful) this is the place.

United KingdomThe nature of the property meant small narrow staircases but the view and the roof terrace made the climb worthwhile.
It was individual and unique, the owners were lovely and friendly and made us feel very welcome. I liked they provided toiletries in large containers and that there was an emphasis on sustainability. The decor was very comfortable and breakfast was great!
