Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomLittle things make a difference, the room was not very clean, we kept running out of tea bags/coffee - you can ask housekeeping for more but it feels as though a premium priced hotel (£350 per night) perhaps aught to put a few more in the room without you having to request and wait etc... Breakfast felt a little pricey also at £35 (not included in room price).
Hotel is beautiful, staff were awesome and we were looked after incredibly well (our sons wedding was at the hotel on Easter weekend). A wonderful overall experience...

The front desk staff and Concierge were excellent. Very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the staff in the restaurant were a nightmare. We received the worst service at breakfast had to wait an hour to place our order and then waited to receive it and then couldn’t get the bill when we were in a rush. Ultimately we complain to the manager and he gave us a complementary breakfast but it left a very bad taste in our mouth‘s about the whole experience of staying at the hotel. Very unfortunate Since we really did think it was a lovely property.

LuxembourgThe dining experience is not up to standard with a weak offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had a clash with one of the waiters as he spilled water over our dinnertable without sufficient action or excuse. Arrogance among waiters is just unacceptable - especially in a five star hotel. We directly decided to leave the table for one of many great restaurants in the neighbourhood. Cotton House Hotel is not great for dining experiences - at least not to our standards.
Location is perfect for this mid size boutique hotel in Barcelona. Nice decoration in common areas and a great terrace to enjoy meetings or meals. Staff is young, entusiastic and ready to help. Beds and linnen are great. Rooms are however small and lack good lightning. A lot of imaginary work has been done as bath and shower facilities share a common space with washbasin on the other side of the hallway. For a short stay it works, but maintenace will be an issue over time as humidity cause mold.

RomaniaThe room is quite strange, in comparison to the public spaces. Especially the bathroom. The sink was on the entrance hall of the room, the toilet in a separate room and the shower and bathtub in a third space, where you would enter and essentially the whole room would be the shower. It was slightly uncomfortable and weird. A big gap between the room and the overall image of the hotel. I didn’t enjoy the room, but I adored the hotel in itself.
The public spaces are amazing and the building itself is an architectural gem. The staff was great, the cleanliness was a 10 and the breakfast just wonderful.

CanadaThe exceptional service of the staff and the comfy beds and big huge closets make this hotel worthwhile. The rooms are a little small for the price but I would recommend the hotel to anyone not in need of a room bigger than 300 square feet. The the size of the biggest room that isn’t a suite. There are no junior suites.

The service was excellent; friendly, helpful, good recommendations, professional and had great personalities. The food was also very good, dinner and breakfast. Provided a very nice and special treat for my wife's birthday. Nice bar. And the accommodations were outstanding, the decor stunning, the rooms bright, neat and clean. Location could not have been better for our touring plans. One of the best if not the best places we have ever stayed.
