Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWhen we arrived on property, the room had some kind of weird smell. It was hard to get rid of it, but the rest of the stay was good.

United KingdomNo air conditioning, It was difficult coping with 28-35d heat without air conditioning in the room.. also the room next to me thought it ok to smoke grass.. this pungent smell was absolutely disgusting.. I emailed the hotel but did not get a reply.. I only stayed one night due to this & left the property the next day

It is close to the parking lot and the room is quite big. The price was quite fair.

NetherlandsThe suspect the cleaning lady of cleaning as random stuff like jewelry and expensive make up was missing in all of our rooms. And it’s a too big of coincidence for all of us to become sloppy as we had 3 separate rooms for 8 people.
It was good but what we like most about the property was the very nice man working the night shift. He was always ready te help and always gave us a big smile. He made our stay way more enjoyable

GreeceThere were some things we didn't enjoy. Firstly, there was no fridge in the room (for such a warm island you really need one), the usage of air-condition had to be paid and the wi-fi signal wasn't strong enough. Even though the stuff cleaned the room everyday, there was a bad smell of humid coming from the shower's tube, which was very unpleasant.
I liked the ambience of the lobby, the colors and the fact that it was so close to the bus station and the airport (very convenient to not be stressed about losing your flight). The room wasn't very big, but it was ok for 2 people and the bed was comfy. Above the bed, there was a ceiling fan, which really helped in the super hot days that we experienced! I liked the fact that it had a pool, even though we didn't use it, but it's nice to have the option. Lastly, the stuff was friendly and cleaned the room almost everyday. In general, good value for money, but certainly there can be some upgrades. :)

IrelandThe tourists were very noisy and as the walls of the hotel are thin, we didn't sleep well during our stay. The shower in the bathroom (at our room) was very tiny and quite complicated to wash in, especially when the shower curtain was constantly sticking on the body.
Hotel is situated close to the beach and far enough from the madness of touristic center of S'Arenal. Nice local restaurants with great food are around and easy to find. The hotel is close from the airport and the reception ordered the taxi for us (as our flight was very early morning) which was handy. Good stay for the money as well. Staff cleaned rooms everyday.

United KingdomSo, now the things that we didn’t enjoy so much and what we think could definitely be improved upon to gain more clientele. I really think as a hotel you need to listen to the reviews about noise and come up with a solution. It was the only thing to be honest that made us slightly unhappy with our stay! We had room 408 which was right next to the elevator and it kept me awake most nights… you could hear it going up and down, people’s conversations, and the lift door being smashed against the walls when people open it. Breakfast was raised to 9 euros during our stay, we tried it once, arriving at 9:15am. What was left of the baguette was not enough for two people and didn’t get replenished but the scrambled eggs and bacon did. I don’t think it was worth 9 euros but it was nice to enjoy the “hotel experience” and the food was nice! We thought there was a drainage problem as every morning when we flushed the loo a smell of rotten eggs filled the bathroom for around 30 mins- 1 hour. And lastly, the TV situation! I asked reception if there was any English channels as we couldn’t find any and they said there was 2 or 3 but alas we couldn’t find anything. The TV itself is super small and placed on the wall far away so if you’re blind like me it’s a little tricky!
My partner and I have just returned to London after a weeks stay in Hotel Costa Mediterraneo. We had a lovely holiday on a budget. One thing we could not fault was the cleanliness. Wherever you went it smelt of nice clean soap and the bed linen/towels were fresh. Check in was quick, we arrived around 2am and had to pay the usual tourism tax, which being a 2 star hotel, it wasn’t very much at all. It obviously has been recently renovated, yes the further you go up the stairs the older the flooring becomes but come on- who goes on holiday to moan about old floors? I really didn’t mind our room, the bed was big and super comfortable, even a third bed which we used as clothes storage! Freshly painted walls and very clean. The wardrobe was nice and new with 10 hangers and there was a safe too but we did not use. The bathroom was basic but we had no problems with water temperature and enjoyed our daily showers. This hotel gave me Travelodge vibes. A clean, basic place to stay. You get what you pay for!
