Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaI've been to Tenerife (and stood in Icod) multiple times, i can say i am somewhat used to the steep streets they have in this part of an island, but i think the access road (the first ~80m) is easily the steepest i've ever seen. It is an experience on its own :) However, an automatic car (which i always rent in Tenerife, even though i drive manual at home) can climb without any stress and i am sure you get used to it with manual too after 2-3 climbs.
Very nice house with beautiful panorama in a calm, quiet area. Well equiped with everything you would need. Super clean. Great pillows and beds. Excellent value for money Welcome drink and amenities were a nice touch

HungaryAs many have already pointed out the driveway to the apartment is extremely steep (~35%), which is not mentioned. I'm an experienced driver but still failed to drive up to the accomodation on the first try. My reccomendation: first walk up (not a long walk), and examine the path and the curves. Once you do, it will be no probelm to drive up, but you won't know at first try. In retrospect I also had to realize that it is probably not the most ideal location to visit the main sights of North Tenerife, because all the major attractions are almost an hour drive away.
Nice and quiet apartment, decently equipped. Nice view on Icod. Easy communication with the owner. Nice welcome message and a bottle of wine.

United KingdomThe communication with an owner(?) is somewhat confusing. Sometimes you get messages in very simple English when resolving your problems but when some things do not suit the owner then everyday you get very serious and official messages in perfect English. Strange. It gets you that feeling you are not welcome. The owner prepares for an eventual financial problems. Everyday we were just wondering if we get a new troubling message. It has a steep way up to the parking that can be problem for some but is doable. Nevertheless the stay was very good for us so can't complain that much. Just adjust your communication and it is gonna be close to perfect.
The location for us (2 families) was ok. It is far away from the city of Icod but with the car it is not that problem - very quiet place. Much space for us.

Excellent location for touring northern Tenerife. Icod is about 10 mins walk away, tho it is a steep walk down and up which wasn’t a problem for us. In town there are several nice places for dinner and coffee. The property was very clean and had all the equipment needed for our 10 day stay. The drive up to the property is very steep, but on a well surfaced drive, our hired fiat 500 coped very well, but we are glad we didn’t arrive for the first time after dark. The bonus is that the elevated position of the case gives you amazing views over Icod and vast open views of the surrounding landscape. We enjoyed the Cueva del viento tour nearby, Tasca La Parada and the Casa el Drago both for such stunning settings, friendly staff and great food.

PolandThe only downside of the property might be a very steep driveway. However it gets easier with time when you get used to it ☺️

Czech RepublicPosition of house is quite crazy. Entrance road is really challange. You can handle it after few practise, but you will not enjoy it. But we have a problem that house is really cold for us. Especially in the morning. Because its position. Terrace on roof is to much far to normal using. Next time we will search some accomodation more on sunny side.
Apartment is clean, furniture is solid and made from wood. Host/owner is helpful with all what we need.

GermanyWe got all information needed prior to our arrival. The Caseria los Charcos was easy to find and to enter. The final access is a bit challenging. As a welcome, we received fresh fruits and a bottle of local wine. During the week, we got fresh avocados from the farm. We spent a happy time in an cozy apartment. The kitchen is well equipped, rooms are big enough, the WIFI is stable and the view from the house is awesome, especially if you enjoy it while dining at the roof top terrace. Julio is the good spirit of the house: Never to be seen, but always there for help and advice. The town of Icod provides all necessary facilities for shopping daily things and we found it the perfect base for discovering the island.

Fantastic location between ocean and volcano! Icod de los vinos 5 min drive, Garachico 10 min. Large supermarket Mercadona and super Dino in Icod and Lidl 8 min drive away. Ideal place for self-catering holiday and exploring North Tenerife! My driving skills improved after driving up and down steep concrete road and practicing three point turn over and over))

Lithuaniacar entry into the yard. I think not all drivers and not all cars will enter there, you need to concentrate every time. The driving angle is 70% and with an angle to the left, but the place is wonderful, most of the visited places are nearby. wanted better lighting for the living room
the panorama is amazing. you can sunbathe on the spot, the barbeque is great.

Czech RepublicThis place is perfect if you enjoy magnificent views and rural houses. Location is perfect if you have car. It is just 5 minutes away from Icod de los Vinos where you have shops, playgrounds, restaurants and beautiful Drago Park. The only thing is that the driveway to the accommodation is quite steep, but an experienced driver can certainly manage it. I recommend it 100%.

Caserio los Charcos is a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from people. Though it’s quite isolated it has the perfect view. But you can still take the 15 minute walk back to civilization. The internet was quite fast and reliable. Had some minor issues (run out of gas) but all was fixed with 30 minutes or less, respect. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks!

United Kingdomthe fact that we had problems with network coverage and Wi-Fi and the owner didn’t care. he said “all the best” we were stuck! practically no network so couldn’t get a taxi. couldn’t make an internet based call or any call at all. he then messaged, amongst other things he said “If you haven't tampered with anything, the problem will be your phone. We're sorry. All the best” i messaged him around 9 to help call a taxi, he replied by 7pm ! and said “do you still want a taxi or not” there are no walking path. no bus stop in sight and no help from the owner, who we didn’t see! though we assume he saw us when we were walking to just get out of the place! we saw a guy with a wheelbarrow who told us the owner is his brother. we guessed they live in one of the properties there. so we had to walk the “snake pass” with fear and trepidation and asked a stranger on the way at one point. the only person we saw at the end of the dangerous roads. he directed us to where we can get a taxi in the square. so walked more. the loungers on the roof terrace were so thick with dust , they should be thrown away! nobody had cleaned them forever! yet, the only place you could get a bit of sun. **the place is wrong on many levels, don’t go there**
the property is ok and clean. it stated Seaview yet the sea isn’t accessible at all. you can see a panoramic Seaview, perhaps enjoy it better with a telescope! the property itself is fine, but a death trap! you cannot get out of the place ! that should be on their advert! especially when nobody cares leave information or give you any info at arrival. also, the fact that the safe for the key to get in at arrival was nowhere to be found between 3 adults for hours. the taxi guy that brought us from the airport stayed, helped us look. used his phone to call the owner. also, the couple in the casa next to ours also called him for us. they eventually moved out because they were stuck too. you can’t go anywhere. we eventually found the key after a good worry. yet he didn’t show his face! very cold and snappy. we expected a little hospitality in a hospitality industry.
