Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaA quirky house set up with a variety of rooms, caters to pilgrims on the camino. Great restaurant but very busy as non hotel guests also come. A music festival happened the night we are there with music blasting until 5 am so it was a tough night sleep. Beautiful and unique property and lovely garden.

AustraliaRoom was clean but attention to detail was lacking - only one globe working in overhead light, shower gel dispenser empty. Very expensive, nearly double the cost of our room in a gorgeous boutique pension in Arzúa the night before.
Lovely building near the church. Nice garden.

United Statesthe room, smelled really bad, the beds were not confortables. The mattress keep moving to the sides, room behind the kitchen wall, you could heard everything from orders to dishes being trow in the sink. Private bathroom across the hall, behind the reception, so you were able to hear every guest coming in at all time, the wall that separated the unit was a french door, so not noise blocking and that went on until midnight. Ps: room window faced the street at street level, so need to keep the shutter shut for privacy. Bathroom did not offer proper toiletries. It seems like super cheap packets of shampoo and gel were brought from somewhere else.

CanadaRoom was quite cold and when I asked the staff member about the heat, she shrugged and pointed to the radiator which you could not adjust. Also, coffee and milk were served cold in a carafe for a cafe con lèche. All places have minimally an auto machine for hot coffees in the morning. I heard scratching in the ceiling several times which was not the household cat.
Location and private bathroom albeit across the hallway.

United KingdomThe kitchen was out of order so there was no breakfast or food at all. There was not even a bottle of water in the room. we did however get vouchers for a local cafe. The location was a bit out of the way so a taxi driver had difficulty locating it at night.
The receptionist despite having no English helped me by calling an ambulance when I needed urgent medical attention.

United KingdomThe kitchen and bar was closed on a Monday and Tuesday, such a shame as the menu looked good. It also would have given the place more atmosphere, it felt deserted with no staff. No sink plug. Tucked away but quiet.
The property had character and a garden to sit in. Clean room, comfy bed, shower small but good. Friendly receptionist on arrival.

AustraliaWe had a very strange experience with the restaurant staff though. They refused to serve us a meal which is one of the reasons we had booked this accommodation. After a days walking we were keen to stay in to eat. The staff advised that they would not serve a meal out in the gardens however subsequently they served others a meal. I explained that we would be happy to simply order a burger but no!
The accommodation and accommodation staff were very helpful and the facilities were great. Breakfast in the morning was very good.

United StatesThe bed was very hard. It's an old place. Not much ventilation & no air conditioner. Private room, but had to share bathroom with another room. The bathroom had no window or fan, so it felt too humid in there. It was not right on the Camino, but it was around 280 meters into town. They advertise they have a 24-hour restaurant on site, but it is closed Monday & Tuesday, so we did not get to enjoy that commodity.
The room was a nice size & the young lady that got us settled was very nice & helpful. They had all kinds of nice continental style choices for breakfast.

United KingdomInadvertently booked room with shared bathroom. No plug in sink. Bathroom bin full. Only one bedside lamp in room that could only be plugged in by trailing wire over one of the beds. No drying facility for pilgrim clothes ( other than paying) No black tea available at breakfast and only way to heat water was in microwave. Not cheap either at 75 Euros!!

IrelandWe did a wash, and it took the dryer ages for the clothes to dry. It would have been nice to hang them out to dry on clothes line, but there was no clothes line on the premises. There was no air conditioning so if the weather was hot, so was room.
