Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe bed was a bit too firm for our liking, but was easy fixed using a few provided extra blankets for cushioning. Probably fine for heavier guests or for those who like firm surface.
Comfortable, rustic, cozy, historic, relaxing and peaceful are just a few of the descriptions of our unforgettable stay. Pepa, Laura and Javier are the perfect hosts, with a perfect level of attentiveness and attention to detail. The room cleaning and overall cleanliness were impeccable.

United KingdomLeaving - honestly, had we not already secured a few bookings in advance we would have stayed for a few days longer.
The authenticity and rustic nature of the hotel was amazing. Laura was the most attentive and generous host. Picking us up at the end of a days Camino walking at Rabanal and dropping us back to the same spot the next day to continue our Camino.

United KingdomIt's somewhat difficult to rejoin the Camino route - I took the main road, which was OK, pretty quiet at 6am, and the few cars were quite aware of the possibility of walkers - but although the road is easy to walk on, it is not intended as a footpath. I would recommend the longer cross-country path that avoids the road, if you have time (which I didn't).
I stayed here, because I was unable to reserve a place to stay on at Rabanal /Foncebadon. I would highly recommend this place - during the day it is a restaurant, and the hosts prepared a lovely dinner for myself and one other pilgrim who was staying, at a very reasonable price. The rooms are in a fine, refurbished stone building, with modern bathrooms.

United States of AmericaI loved this hotel.
Casa Pepa is amazing! It is a restored 18th century Maragata mansion converted to a small hotel but keeping with the Maragata style. It is so charming. One can see the attention, care, and love they put into the restoration. All rooms overlook the garden. My room was amazing. It was beautifully decorated. The bed was comfortable. There is a bath/shower and I was able to soak in the tub after being on the Camino. My room had an electric tea kettle and I was able to enjoy a couple of cups of tea. The owners/hosts and the owner’s mother were wonderful. They were so attentive. The dinner and breakfast were great. It was so quiet and just felt so serene. It’s off the Camino path but so worth the experience. I highly recommend Casa Pepa.

United States of AmericaOur room had 3 twin beds which was not to our liking. Perhaps I just don't understand how to request a king size bed in Spain, or perhaps they are uncommon. The website boasts old-fashioned wool blankets, but during CoVID times, it would be nicer to have a sheet on both sides of the wool blanket to increase "clean" surfaces.
Owners and property were absolutely delightful. Food was farm to table, fresh and delicious. Husband and wife strike an ideal balance sharing front and back of house duties creating a seemless and detail rich experience. Beautiful mansion from the 1800's refurbished and well taken care of. Owner picked us up from Camino and dropped us back - other hikers walked 3 extra miles to reach the Rural House. One of the 3-4 largest rooms on our vacation and perfectly appointed.

United States of AmericaThe cost of things should be explained as you order them.
The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and a good value for 6 euros. They picked us up in El Ganso while walking the Camino. My only complaint was the dinners were expensive at 22.50 Euro for each of us (two friends). I wish I had known ahead of time. It was better than a pilgrim meal but not twice.

United States of AmericaWe chose this location for two specific reasons: 1. They stated they were on the Camino de Santiago and 2. They were only 2 miles from el Ganso. Neither were true. When we got to el Ganso, we were told there was no direct road to the hotel, that we would have to walk about another 12 miles to get to the hotel. (This was a disaster as I was in extreme pain. I later learned I had stress fractures in both knees) We tried to call but were unable to get through. We had to walk further to find a place to stay. Luckily we found a room and the host called the hotel, cancelled our reservation and picked up bags we had transported there. Even though we never stayed there, the charged us and refused to refund our money. BE CAREFUL WHEN BOOKING HERE AS SOME OF THE INFOMRATION ON THIS SITE IS FALSE AND THEY FAILED TO REFUND OUR MONEY WHEN WE COULD NOT EVEN GET TO THE HOTEL BECAUSE OF THE FALSE LISTING.
