Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We really enjoyed this hotel. Such a cosy traditional building. The room was very comfortable and had good facilities, the location is a small village but close to a great restaurant and a good breakfast served in the morning.

SwitzerlandThe isolation of the room was a bit lacking as we could hear other guests speak (normally) in their room, also the road next to the room was not helping, so the first night we could not sleep very well
- very friendly host - very good breakfast - very good value for money

PortugalUnfortunately, the guests that were in the room above us made a lot of noise during the night. But we didn´t complain to the owner. So, overall nothing bad to say.
We loved the room and the location. The owner is very nice, kind, and willing to help with everything she can. Very cozy place with a very nice breakfast. We recommend it.

Our host was very nice and gracious to wait for our arrival. We were delayed by unforeseen plans and had to change our arrival timing yet she was all smiles still when we finally turned up. She also prepared a sumptious breakfast for us the next day (included in our fees) and provided us excellent service. The beds were comfortable and shower amenties were also provided.

I want to rate it 3 star hotel since beds are so comfortable. The host is very nice lady, she put a lot of effort in this little house, well decorated, home feeling. She also came early for preparing breakfast.

United KingdomBecause we were travelling we had not been able to pick up the message on the day before telling us that the hotel had been changed. The system assumes that people will always have an Internet connection, and we did not have one.
Large comfortable room BUT it was not in Casa Ortiz! We found out when we arrived that we had been transferred to a nearby hotel. There was nobody at Casa Ortiz.

SpainThe weather was a bit wet, but otherwise a great stay.
Beautiful place, and amenities, decor, and our hostess most helpful and welcoming. . The breakfast varied and generous, the pergola in the garden with comfy chairs and glass roof was very relaxing. Just a short drive to Cavadonga, and the glorious picos de Europe. Walking distance to some very good restaurants, and Sideria. Will return as beautiful setting by the river.

ItalySoto de Canga is not as lively as Cangas to Onis, less choices for restaurants etc.
The host was very nice, she even served us an early breakfast! The whole place is well decorated and the bed was comfortable. Big shower. Horse riding place nearby and 6 km only from the barrier to go to Covadonga lakes.

SpainWe had an issue with our downstairs room the first night but by the second night we were moved upstairs which was very good as we had decent breeze from open windows on both sides of the house, the air can be heavy so it's good to be able to breathe🫡 breakfast is a decent spread, they have croissants, fruit baskets and as much filter coffee as you want, you just need to ask🙂
We got a free pass up the mountain and because of our big dog and the fact there wasn't a hope he would fit on the bus, I would like to Thank the owner big time for this as we had fantastic day and without the pass wouldnt have been able to get up there, (the road is closed to all traffic except tourist buses in the summer)we also made a booking with Restaurante Merendero de los Lagosand and enjoyed the steaks and sidra, I would like to a make a point about this restaurant, the food is exceptional, highly recommended to eat here
