Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

UkraineMattress in the bedroom which is in the basement was not very comfortable for 2 adults. Also, this bedroom was a little bit noisy. But this hasn't influenced the overall positive impression.
Great location, helpful host! Lot of sightseen objects and bus stops are at walking distance. Nice apartment's design and new furniture. Wonderful and spacy roof top terrace. Aldi supermarket is 150m close. Very good restaurants quite close.

Perfect accommodation if you go with group of 5-6 people (3 couples). Fully equipped house, almost in the centre of Barcelona - majority on walking distance, also very close to metro station. Very good communication with owner. Great terrace on the roof.

If you want to visit Barcelona just for a few days, you won't need to use subway, all major attractions are within range of 20-25 minutes walk from this place. You have also a few shops like Lidl or Aldi just around a corner. Very good contact with the owner.

Fantastic terrase, which we had no time to use as there are so many nice pubs and restaurants around. Also great kitchen if cooking a meal. 10 min walk to La Sagrada Familia and 20 min walk to Placa De Catalunya. Metro about 8 min walk.

SwitzerlandThe area can get a bit noisy at night, the air conditioning system is not very straightforward to operate and it took us a while to warm the place up (the host is very helpful and quick to respond though, and after some further instructions it all worked out fine).
Perfect location, walking distance to many points of interest and nice restaurants, very spacious, well equipped with everything you might possibly need, nice rooftop terrace.

United KingdomNeeded more mugs, at least six, there were four of us and only 3 mugs, one chipped. Chipped bowls too. No small knife for food prep or bread knife, just three huge ones. (This was mentioned in a review in 2021, but not supplied by Sept 22) Light by front door not working. Mirror in bedroom could be useful. Pillows could do with renewing, and perhaps a duvet for cooler months. Chairs very hard and uncomfortable, cushions would be nice in kitchen and on terrace. Maybe a few inexpensive pictures on the walls would give it a more warm feeling, all seemed a bit bare and cold. Not suitable accomodation for elderly people or people with mobility issues as it is arranged over three floors, four if you include terrace, so a lot of running up and down stairs. I run my own B&B in England, listening to customers comments and acting on them go a long way to obtaining that perfect score.
Although we were given the wrong door code and couldn't get in, a call to booking.com to contact the owner eventually sorted it out. Not something you wanted when arriving tired after a long journey. Sergi was very helpful and compensated us with a free taxi to the airport for the mix up, which was greatly appreciated especially as my daughter is disabled. Very central location, near metro and walking distance of restaurants and cafes.

United StatesFor the price I expected better quality. In this particular unit (#C), there was a lot of mildew in the showers, the washing machine soap tray was dirty, the laundry hamper had mildew, there was no place to hang wet towels or keep soap in the shower, bad smells and sounds coming from kitchen plumbing and flies, lots of stains on the sofa (host had the sofa cover replaced during our stay which was appreciated), shutter door to patio was very hard to slide and there was a broken door in the floor of the deck which was hazardous. Host said he would remedy items which is good, but based on the ratings I would expect this to be part of the normal cleaning process.
Central Location, relatively quiet, host was responsive and did his best to remedy the issues we found (which changed my rating from a 5 to a 6). Was a great size for 5 adults. Nice fridge and beds were comfortable.
