Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAsked reception for coffee pods for the machine but none were delivered to the room as promised and eggs Benedict freezing cold at breakfast then another order was seemingly baked under a heat lamp - flavourless and I left both attempts. Very disappointing for a 5* experience and the extra cost. I ended up having a croissant, yoghurt and pot of fruit. Not value for money at all. There were other things jn offer but having waited for both cooked breakfasts I didn’t have time to eat more.
Stunning location which I’ve wanted to visit since I learned about canfranc station several years ago. Beautiful renovation, friendly staff and fantastic rooms. Loved all the USB charging ports so we could charge our camera equipment etc without the need for several plugs

NetherlandsThe Spa without the slightest doubt. Expensive for is simply is a pool, and not a very appealing one. The fact that you get a cocktail when you arrive to the Spa is a nice touch, but does not take away from the fact that, for such a wonderful hotel, it lets down. Pool was a bit on the coldish (sub-30°) side as well to my Spa tastes.
Excellent room in a perfectly renovated building. Tasteful hotel, in every single detail and excellent Restaurant and cocktail bar. Would come back.

SpainI missed a small seat in the bathroom For customers the parking should be included in the room price, in my view
Very comfortable room, full o details The building, spectacular The area and landscape for mountain lovers, magnifique Maybe insignificant, but it greatly brought my attention the perfume you smell in the entrance and lobby area

United KingdomAgain small things but only two I can think of. We waited a while when ordering drinks in the bar, and were not asked if we wanted more wine when our plates were cleared, despite their being an obvious empty glass.
This amazing building was my inspiration for my motorcycle journey to Portugal, having seen it on TV. Small things like the usb points near the beds, the turning down of the beds and the heated toilet seat show nothing is overlooked when providing an exceptional experience

We stayed in a suite and it was absolutely fantastic. The space was amazing and the decor very tasteful. The bathroom was gorgeous with Rituals shower gel, shampoo etc. Nothing was left to chance. The setting is unbelievable.

United KingdomIt is not the fault of the hotel that there is no outside space to relax in, but we did not expect to be charged 20e per hour for the use of the pool, given the price of the rooms. The reception areas are shared with sightseers, so not always relaxing, as a guest.
Exciting to stay in this extraordinary renovation of an iconic building, with so much history. Excellent restaurant serving interesting and good value dishes.

United KingdomDidn’t use the pool give the extra €20pp charge and requirement for swim cap. Couldn’t get a table in restaurant on second night, offered bar snack menu but not suitable for the kids and there was no flex to order a small plate of pasta from the main restaurant. Like others, we were disappointed with the lack of windows in the duplex suite but they moved us to the junior suite which was stunning.
Beautiful decor throughout, spotlessly clean and amazing attention to detail. Friendly staff. Pleasant restaurant and fun cocktail bar in the library. Easy access to lovely walks in the mountains

United KingdomParking 15 euros/ day (there is loads free parking in town, or, turn right as you enter the hotel grounds and find a space down there). Swimming pool 20 Euros for 50 minutes( you need a cap). A five star hotel should really have both these as standard, without extra charges. No outside pool/area to enjoy the sun. Perhaps it's in the pipeline.
The station is every bit as fabulous as it seems on TV. Rooms superbly appointed. Silent air conditioning. Be aware that one room on each floor has an adjoining bedroom with doors through which you can hear other guests. We asked to move

United KingdomWe thought that we should not have been charged extra for the pool. The bar staff let you down. The barman did not listen to us and brought the wrong drinks. Then he tried to charge us for our neighbour’s drinks. Not a problem as it was easily sorted, but the bar staff need training.
Everything. The architecture, the interior hall, the room, the bar, the restaurant, the countryside, and so on. The greeting was lovely too.

NetherlandsThe Spa really does not deserve the 20€ entrance fee. You do get a light cocktail and a relaxing environment, but it is nothing more than a pool with some jets and -to by taste- chilly water (29-30°C, for a Spa).
The hotel is a brand new 5*, in a beautiful setting. Rooms are very comfortable and the Junior Suites were really speacious and well-appointed. Staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant up to expectations, both in terms of design, service and traditional food with a modern touch.
