Very little not to like..perhaps the towels had seen better days and maybe some plain yoghurt without sugar would have been nice on the breakfast buffet, but these are very small issues.

Fantastic location, splendid views both from the room and out on the terrace where we ate breakfast and dinner on some nights. The room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was a good strength and plenty of hot water. Room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was fine, some days the very early risers had got the best of the buffet, but as a person who doesn't normally eat breakfast, I ate perfectly well and had good coffee. Special mention to all the hotel team who were universally friendly and helpful. We ate several dinners at the hotel and enjoyed the food.

Bathroom was in need of upgrade, but was very clean

Wonderful views over the hills down to the sea and a lovely terrace from which to admire them with a glass of something. We have often stopped here when in Competa and wondered what it would be like to stay at the hotel. It was great and a good way to experience the more local side of Competa rather than sticking to the centre, which tends to full of expats. It’s lively, locals seem to love it and we enjoyed the ambience. Special shout out to the lovely receptionist

At breakfast a whole travel group from England had taken up all the seats inside and it was a bit too fresh to eat outside. A few more tables inside would be lively if that many guests are there and especially when a large group is eating all at once in order to allow for people outside that group to find a table too.

The hotel was nice and clean and I really liked the little book with poems in both Spanish and Swedish. The breakfast was very good and the staff friendly and paying attention. The location was great, we were hiking the GR7.

Would have liked: -a small sofa in our room as plenty big enough as like to spend evenings reading -would prefer a walk in shower

View exceptional. Amazing memory foam double bed but would have preferred 2 singles with same comfort. Manageress was very friendly and went out of her way to help us. Lovely covered area to sit by bar. Fantastic countryside walk to next village 2km starting beside the hotel.

The location is phenomenal! I walked around quite a bit, and didn’t see anywhere else that had sea and Mountain View’s all in one. Also Maria is such a fabulous host! She made me feel like I was there part of the family - so comfortable, so friendly, so kind. Definitely recommend getting a balcony room bc it was precious and lovely.

Needs a fridge in the rooms! Definitely! Hot weather needs a fridge! It closes on a Wednesday so hotel guests cannot get a meal or a drink, ridiculous! They should employ one or two staff to just make a simple toasted sandwich and pour a drink for the guests!

Most amazing mountain views and wonderful staff

The restaurant, bar and pool are just below the rooms. On the first night our air conditioning did not work, and there was a loud group at the bar area below the rooms from 2pm in the afternoon until 3-4 am in the morning, laughing shouting. Impossible to rest for siesta or sleep at night, and we could not close the window because the airco was not working strong enough. Since we came from the coast up to the hills for a weekend of rest, hiking and quiet, this was very disappointing. If you stay here, check the air conditioning on arrival and if not working ask to change rooms! We were ready to leave the property despite our non refundable booking, but they kindly offered to change our room and the second room was better (room 209). Before booking ask if any family gatherings are planned at the bar or restaurant. The hotel has bungalows in the parking area, these were really not appealing, ask for a 3rd floor south view room on the western side, instead.

Rustic, authentic and historic hotel, with nice pool and garden area, located just on the edge of the lovely white village of Competa. Very nice front desk staff, kind, and friendly. I liked the comfy sofas and chairs scattered around and multiple book shelves with a collection of paperbacks in all languages to pick from! Cute flamenco show on Fridays during all summer thru October. Nice views from the south facing balcony rooms.

The furniture and bathroom are a bit dated but this is a minor inconvenience

Great hotel with lovely view from the balcony, a great swimming pool, very good food, and smiling personnel. The hotel is very close to hiking paths and Competa itself is a beatiful, picturesque little town with cool restaurants and shops. We recommend visiting Puerto Collado - viewpoint which is 10 minutes by car.

the room was a little dated, the mattress seemed to be too big for the bed frame and we had to adjust several times in order to get a comfortable sleep. The shower door screen was very old and really not fit for purpose. Eventually it kind of collapsed.

The location was amazing, with lovely views down The Valley. The terrace was just perfect for enjoying a coffee after breakfast and dining. The Chef had the BBQ on at lunch time and the food was lovely.
