Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe check in process was a little confusing but there was a number for us to call. The person was very helpful and helped us resolve issues. Once we understood what to do it was okay. Our suite was in the building across the road from where you have to check in which initially seemed inconvenient but it was perfectly fine.
The location was fantastic. Close to the shops and restaurants. There was a supermarket and bakery close by as well and a Starbucks next door which opened late. I loved that the suite was quiet inside but you could walk outside and be in the middle of everything. Very easy to walk to Placa de Catalunya, Las Ramblas and the beach. The suite was amazing. 3 good size rooms and good dining andd living space. We were surprised with the spacious furnished patio outside which the 2 kids loved waking up in the morning and running outside to play. The kitchen had all the utensils, plates, cutlery etc we needed. We arrived a bit early and our suite wasn't ready but there was sufficient lockers to store our luggage while we went to get some lunch. It was €1 per locker so have some change if needed.

United StatesThe is renovation in the apartment across the courtyard. And there is construction in the street. It is very loud during the day from 8:30am. The walls and windows are not sound proof. The staff were very responsive when we had problem checking in. However, even though our guests was four instead of five as in reservation, we were still charged the amount of city tax as five guests. There was not any reply after multiple requests. The room is also only equipped with 6 tea packets and 6 coffee pods, without replenishing according to the days of stay. We learned that after our 3rd requests. We don’t mind buying those ourselves. However, we are not familiar with the size of the pods and was successful only after buying the wrong one (bigger pods).
The location is great. it is easy to go anywhere.

Spacious rooms, bigger than expected. Very comfortable, exceptional location, just 2 minutes from Casa Batlo, very quiet. Beds very comfortable. Supermarket across the street and bakery just next to door. Apartment very well equipped, nothing was missing. We had a great stay!!

United StatesCheck in is challenging. Had to check in one place and the apartment was in a different building across the street, which is not ideal when you’re traveling with big suitcases and kids. The only issue with the apartment itself is that there were several little gnats in all the rooms when we arrived.
