Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We stayed for one night only as we were walking the Camino Portuguese. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms were excellent. They drove us to their sister hotel which has a restaurant and the meal was delicious.

United KingdomKettle in room to make tea and coffee would have been good.
Check in process good- it allowed us to check in early when hosts not on site. Good communication via WhatsApp prior to arrival. Good signage helped us find the property easily. In a lovely little village but a bit remote. Long walk to nearest restaurants but a there is an hourly bus into Santiago during the day. Hosts have another hotel fairly close and off free transport there and back for evening meal. We were cycling the Camino so this gave us a short 7Km into Santiago on our last morning. Good breakfast.

United StatesOne of our rooms had a little spotty wifi.
Rooms and beds were lovely and comfortable. Very unique property. Friendly staff, offered to drive us to their sister property with a restaurant, which was very nice. And then they drove us back. The breakfast was very nice, set up at tables, plenty of fruit, cheese and ham, muffins and toast, coffee, etc. The casa is about 10 minute walk off the Camino, which was perfect for us.

New ZealandRoom was quite small but the outlook was good.
This house has a lot of character and is set up nicely a small hamlet. Bug screens on the windows were great as the mosquitoes couldn’t bite us. Great to have a swim in the pool.

AustraliaWe went to the dining room for breakfast at the appointed time, but nothing was available and there were no staff in attendance. We helped ourselves to a yoghut and a coffee before departing.
This was my second stay at Casa Rural as Bentinas while walking the Portuguese Coastal camino. It's in a lovely quiet location not far off the camino. The room was comfortable and the windows are able to be opened to allow fresh air in the room.

United StatesWe were walking the Camino de Compostela, and the house is 15 minutes off the route. If you arrive by car, then this is not an issue, and you have plenty of parking. Breakfast options were fresh but minimal when compared to other hotels and houses we stayed during our 6 days walk from Vigo to Santiago. My room was large but my friends that shared a room had a small two twin beds room with a small bathroom. Mattress, pillows, bed linens and towels looked and felt old.
Natural stone house in a quiet rural area with non-heated pool. The two persons that we met, one when we arrived and the other one at breakfast, were very nice.

This is my second stay at this bnb. I walked the Camino both times and it is the perfect stopping point between Padron and Santiago. The house is so well made, decorated ands maintained. There are only 5 rooms so book it right away. If you are walking they accept luggage transfers. Also a helpful hint, after you cross the bridge over the highway and head towards Milladioro you will come to a traffic circle. There is a sign for THIS bnb.. follow the signs to the house (don't go up the steep hill into town) . The bnb is in a neighborhood. Uber eats can deliver food to the house. The house also has wine, beer, and soda for sale. The caretaker who will serve you breakfast is super kind. Breakfast was good with cakes, meats and cheeses, breads and fruit. There is also a pool to dip your feet (or swim) in after walking. There are outdoor courtyards and indoor shared areas to sit and relax. You can tell I really love this place!

United KingdomLocation was very rural off the Camino path and there was nowhere near to go for dinner without walking a 30min round trip. On plus side there are several food delivery options.

BulgariaThe soundproofing between the rooms was poor, we could easily follow the conversations of our neighbours. There were a few appliances that were either broken or not working properly. Overall, those were small inconveniences in an otherwise lovely house.
An old house with a lot of character and atmosphere, nicely restored and tastefully decorated, situated in a peaceful rural area. Helpful and welcoming staff, comfortable room, very pleasant common areas. Nice breakfast.

United States2 of our 3 bedrooms 1and 3 had erratic shower which went from normal to cold to hot! Not sure if it was because we were using them at the same time.
Everything! The best in all our travels. Quiet, country setting, great sleep. They organized a fantastic 3 course dinner with wine, digestive drink and transport to and from our hotel to their sister hotel. Breakfast was great as was our server. We loved having a drink on the patio (pay on your bill) in the sun surrounded by flowers and an old well. Nice pool for better weather too. Book it!

United StatesThere were several dogs nearby that literally barked ALL night - otherwise it would have been nice to leave our windows open overnight as there is no A/C.
Beautiful historic property- Suzanna the owner was amazing! She served delicious gluten free bread with our breakfast. The pool was lovely and “fenced in” by large arborvitae. Bed was very comfortable! We had access to kitchen and were able to put some drinks in refrigerator overnight.
