Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe location was excellent for exploring Girona, situated right in the heart of the old town. The apartment was gorgeous, super spacious and had the most comfortable beds!! A perfect spot to use as our base :)

United KingdomNothing, apartment was great. Only issue was with Booking.com where the free taxi that was part of the booking couldn’t be updated online to the correct pickup time despite contacting both them and the taxi co. Ended up costing another €40!!
Brilliant location, right in the old town. Lots of restaurants and bars near by. Apartment was amazing, had everything you could think of. Kitchen v well equipped for self catering. Lots of space. Good TV options. 3 double bedrooms, well spaced out with 2 bathrooms. We were 3 people but could easily accommodate 6.

United StatesHaving to visit a different hotel to pick up the keys was a bit of a pain. But the hotel wasn't far away. We arrived by train around 11am and the reception lady was lovely and said she'd ask the cleaners to clean our apartment first so we could check-in. She told us it would be ready by 3pm. So we left our bags (easy and the hotel was very willing to do that) and went out for some sightseeing. We came back around 3pm to find a guy at the hotel reception desk who very clearly told us that check-in was at 4pm and there was absolutely no way we could get the keys early. That would have been fine if we hadn't been told earlier that the apartment would be ready at 3pm. We waited around for an hour, which could have been time more usefully used.
Well appointed. Spotless. Quiet. Spacious. Nice complementary coffee. Washer and dryer. Great value. Super easy to walk to everything we needed to in town. Steps to bakery. An easy walk to the cathedral, river and to walk the city walls. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. The second bedroom upstairs (with twin beds) is open to the living room. There is a sliding door but gaps above the dresser and an area that doesn't close off. It wasn't a problem at all for us, but if you have young kids and plan to spend time in the living area after the kids go to bed, that could pose a noise issue.

United KingdomI traveled in August so it was very hot and a bit humid and there were LOADS of tourists ramming the streets. The dishwasher had an issue but I didn't need it and reported it. The cleaner comes once in the week which I was unprepared for, but worth knowing. The living room furniture was rather low - and the small tables unstable. There can be a smell of barbecued prawns that wafts up in the evening - it's above a tapas restaurant, but I didn't find the smell unpleasant or detracting. This is an apartment block, so expect to hear others on the stairs/in the lift, crying babies/small children and dogs - as you would get in any apartment block in the city. Refuse collection at night can be noisy also. Watch out for religious/public holidays when places may close early or be shut. Personal peeve was - no toilet roll holder in the loo as it's a shower/loo, and the soap dish wasn't recessed so I kept catching my arm on it when showering, but minor niggles. It's a lovely apartment.
The location of the apartment was very well positioned for exploring all the main sites of the city of Girona and only a short walk from the hotel reception - even with a large suitcase traversing the cobbled streets and scaling the 'Eiffel' Bridge was not that difficult. The apartment was amazing - I had been unsure of the 'indoor outdoor' balcony, but it was a lovely spot for breakfast. The Town Hall clock over the road kept you conscious of the time but not in an intrusive way - the lovely old bells of the church added to the spirit of the city and harkened to days past. The light was amazing - and it was great to be able to open the front windows and watch the world go by. That said the aircon was very very welcome having temps of 34+ when I was there. The apartment is right above a few eateries and cafes, there's a bread shop selling cakes, coffees, snacks and drinks, and supermarkets are only a short walk away. Many amazing restaurants and shops, just need to be discerning and explore further afield a bit (this is a hot spot for tourism). Highly recommend walking the city wall - but go early, dawn is best (there are homeless sleeping on the turrets so tread softly and with kindness). There's an outdoor market in the park on a Wednesday. I highly recommend using ToursbyLocals (Miquel was amazing).

United StatesThe bathroom setup was a bit strange. I've never seen a toilet seat INSIDE a shower within an enclosed area. And even stranger was that there was no toilet paper holder anywhere near the toilet seat. Both bathrooms were designed like this.
The apartment was spacious and very nicely done. It had all the required amenities and was very clean. We loved the layout and also the exercise bicycle upstairs. Very cool! Also, it's super close to pretty much everything.
