Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThey could expand their juice bar with fresh juices not just upon special request but to the general public. They should also expand on their fresh fruit and gluten free options at breakfast. Sheep yogurt and gluten free granola for example. Forget those nasty soy yogurts please!
Aside from a few hiccups at the beginning, after the staff stepped up, all was forgiven and we spent a very relaxing, luxurious week at the Abama.

TurkeyThere are mosquitos around the pool. It is sometimes very annoying.
Very rich breakfast. It has its own beach. Restaurant are a bit expensive in comparison to the restaurants outside the hotel but foods are so delicious. Fantastic. We were there for our honeymoon. They gifted us a bottle of wine and some chocolate, which is so nice. Ocean view rooms are so nice highly recomended.

United KingdomThey’ve no longer got the sports bar there which was a great relaxed venue in the past!
Fantastic villa location right by the pool. Amazing staff who couldn’t do enough for us, service was incredible! In particular, Anastacia, Georgetta & Hector from tapas hour and Nicholas in the lobby bar, thanks to all of them for looking after us and making our stay so special!

United KingdomThe service by the pool should be quicker there should always be waiters available I found myself having to go up to the bar to order quite a few times.
I really liked that there were always beds available by the main pool. Clean towels and the staff set up the sun beds for you. The breakfast was really good and over all the property was very clean.

United KingdomMain pool was closed every morning for painting, we were not told about this in advance or at check-in. It was an unwelcome surprise on our first morning! Painting also went on longer than we were told. Also weren’t told golf course was closed which my husband was disappointed about. Food at Txoko restaurant was average. We went twice and on both occasions the steak was very average. They also tried to charge us €57 for 3 side salads as we added cucumber, tomato and avocado to a standard green salad! No where to buy the children ice lollies around the pool which is ridiculous for a family hotel in summer. Kids club was €25 per child which meant it was very quiet- there were only 2 other children in there on one visit. Sadly, my boys found it boring and didnt want to go back.
The rooms were a great size and very comfortable. The staff were amazing - they went out of their way to correct things we were unhappy about. The train driver went above and beyond to find my sons goggles that he lost at the pool. They were delivered to our room the same day. Mirador is an amazing restaurant with great food and amazing sunsets. We went 3 times during our stay. Breakfast is one of the best i have ever experienced. Super clean and chefs worked really hard. Omelette lady was awesome.

United Arab EmiratesIt’s not the hotels fault but the amount of flies in the pool areas is incredible annoying. It’s the same in the rest of the south I just wished the hotel could do something about it
Everything is perfect in this hotel, you don’t need to leave the area and facilities are unreal.

United KingdomReally slow check in process. We felt that given the delay the staff should have directed us to sit down in the lobby and fetched us when they were free. Long queues at conceirge- v inefficient process to book golf/ padel. Reception staff on one occasion refused to make restaurant reservation outside of the hotel for us- a bit odd.
Fantastic stay, we loved it. The room was fantastic. Gym was the best hotel gym we have ever had. Pool area and staff wonderful. Breakfast was really wonderful- particularly the omelet station.

United KingdomMaybe due to the time of year - April, there were a lot of flies around which were annoying, in Sept this was not the case. Also as more senior people we try to avoid hotels with lots of families with children, we misjudged the fact that this was the second week of the UK Easter holidays therefore many children there. This is more about our timing than the fault of the hotel
This was our second stay at the R-C as we love the styling and position of the hotel, the room (level 6) was super with great views from the balcony. Apart from poor communications at check in which meant that we did not get into our room until 5.30, the staff are very attentive and friendly.

CanadaWhile we loved the beauty and tranquillity of the Ritz Carlton Abama, we did have an issue with the room, which was not as I had been told to expect when I called the property months before to check on the particulars of our reservation. However, it was an exceptionally busy time at the hotel and we arrived in late afternoon, when rooms were filled. We still enjoyed our sojourn at the resort. The location is quite remote. I wish there had been a shuttle to some places nearby. Without a car, we took expensive taxi rides to visit neighbouring places, such as Adege, where I didn’t find the shopping special, but there is a glorious, lengthy, naturally crowded, beach walk there. I wish that there had been a shuttle to the area. Farther from the RCA hotel, but immensely worthwhile, is Masca, which is outstanding for its magnificent mountain panoramas.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and bright. The restaurants are varied and each one is fabulous. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, with a great, diverse selection of beverages and dishes — many healthful and others, a holiday splurge. A marvellous omelette maker, Carmen, manages 4 different orders at a time while being pleasant and Magda, our frequent server, was amazing, offering us delicious cappuccinos with a wonderful smile.

United KingdomDealing with the hotel prior to arrival can be tricky. They recommend booking everything before you go to avoid disappointment which is sensible and when the online bookings for restaurants and spa work that's great. However, if you have to contact the hotel due to online booking issues or restaurants being cancelled then you need to persevere as its not straightforward. Also from our perspective we book adult only accommodation as that's our preference. The resort should offer breakfast and dinner, adult only areas also. They have tried to introduce the concept but at nearly every sitting for each meal we were sat next to families with small babies or children. Other hotels can make this work and I'm sure it would be appreciated. The cleanliness this time was not as good, we had a cockroach in the room twice, it can't be helped but they are not the easiest to encourage to leave and there was thick dust around the bottom of the headboard. Room service, we ordered fresh milk, tea spoons and extra pillows were always helpful.
We have visited the resort a number of times and we thoroughly enjoy the overall experience. The location is beautiful, the resort restaurants offer plentiful choice and on the whole are excellent quality. Staff are mainly friendly and helpful. We usually stay in an adults only villa, with the use of an adults only pool, which is perfect for us. The breakfast offers a superb selection and the restaurant overlooks the sea which can make for an enjoyable start.
