Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe odd smoker, we could smell , on our non smoking floor. We thought the room could do with a lick of varnish or paint. We used to walk out in the evening , on the Mamsha or promenade , to view and use the local restaurants and shops. On the down side, the local authorities have not maintained the pavements well on all sides , and the hotel is surrounded by unfinished or abandoned building sites. Maybe Marriott could contact the Red Sea Governor. On the bright side , this probably gave us a quieter time.
Staff were excellent from main reception , house keeping, food and beverage, lifeguards, animation. The hotel was generally very well maintained and pleasing to the eye. Wi-Fi was very good in main hotel, including our room, not always the case in Egypt. Beach and sea were wonderful. There is an on-site aqua sports club. Breakfast buffet was very good . Special thanks to Rania and Mabrouk at the breakfast buffet , and Mahmoud who cleaned and supplied our room 541.

EgyptThe hotel overall is a bit consumed and needs renovations.
The hotel overall is good with a good beach and sea view rooms. And the most exceptional thing is the staff (all of them) but especially Ms. Hagar (Guest Relations) and Mr. Mahmoud (Shorouk Restaurant).

United KingdomThe island bar is a lost opportunity. It closes too early, an evening sundowner at the bar would’ve been really good, but it closed at 6.
The vast array of food offerings at meal times, as well as quality was really good. Location onto the beach was fantastic.

EgyptIt is the first time for me to see a global chain like Marriott, which allows indoor smoking. Smoking is allowed in coffee shop in the lobby. This was very wear and annoying for me. I don't know why hotels do not offer car cleaning services. When you spend 4 days in a dusty country like Egypt, cars conditions become terrible.
The beach is extremely nice, very clear water, and safe place. We made snorkeling day and it was very nice.

United KingdomThe rooms were a disappointment. They are very dated with dark wood and didn’t look very clean. Pictures showed rug and bed cushions but we didn’t have that even after being upgraded to a deluxe room. The rooms are the let down of this 5 star hotel they definitely feel like a 3* rooms. There wasn’t many restaurants nearby but lots of taxis around
The hotel facilities were great. The hotel itself was very looked aftered but the rooms not so much. Staff were helpful. Location is very close to the airport. Breakfast was really good with lots of options.

SwitzerlandPaying and booking at the restaurant is a mess. Why can't they just write the room number and we pay at the end of the stay. Preloading the credit card or paying every day is a pain.
A very good international standard. Very quiet, no night activities.

TurkeyAlmost nothing. Maybe the lack and location of electric power outlets.
The hotel gave us a very large room with balcony on the top floor with wonderful views of Red Sea. They also provided a heart-shaped cake and fruit basket with heart-formed flower decorations knowing our anniversary and we felt like it was our second honeymoon. The hotel’s beach was wonderful with manmade island in front and harbors the beach from waves and wind. The crystal waters were very inviting and perfect for swimming. The breakfast was satisfying enough, but the staff in the restaurant and at every corner of the hotel were really perfect, which makes everything very special during the stay. Will definitely stay again with the kids in a family room next time.

United KingdomThere is a general problem in Egypt where they will over quote prices for services and then one has to negotiate like at the spa or dive center. Considering Marriott is an international chain - the prices should be fixed
Right on the beach with its own dive center ! Makes it’s very convenient especially if you want to dive on your holiday . The massages at the spa are good too

EgyptThe breakfast is good and varied, but it does not change. For lunch or dinner meals, they are very expensive for the value. Also, the variety and taste are not at the level of a hotel like Marriott. The second thing is that there are not many entertainment means in the hotel.
All employees are courteous, polite and cooperative, starting from the bell men of hotel entrance, reception, front office, room service, restaurant, and beach cafeteria. They always smile and are cheerful. The entire hotel is extremely clean, the Wi-Fi is very good, the hotel’s location is excellent and close to the city center for those who want to see Hurghada or eat any meals outside the hotel. Finally, I would like to thank all the employees and all staff 🙏🙏
