Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesGreat location next to the manor. Very few people at hostel. I had the whole room to myself. Bathrooms clean. Shared fridge, microwave and kettle. Ask at hotel for dishes. The restaurant was delicious. Its worth the cost to eat dinner at the restaurant. Probably the best meal of my trip. The gardens were beautiful and it was perfect for a peaceful retreat from the city.

LatviaInitially there were no plates, cutlery and soap in the bathroom, but the hotel staff gave it to us.
Beautiful surroundings, gardens, the manor itself. Very supportive , kind staff. Actually the perfect place to stay for some more days and to explore Lahemaa National Park.

ItalyNo negatives worth mentioning. While it would surely be great to add a proper kitchenette, as many have noted, you DO have a boiler, a microwave, a toaster and a fridge at your disposal, making it perfectly possible to self-cater planning and bringing your supplies accordingly. And while it is true that there are no dishes and cutlery in the guesthouse building, all you have to do is ask the kind staff at the restaurant (a floor up from reception) to borrow anything you may need, and you'll be set :)
Incredible value for money to the point of almost feeling ashamed :) Lahemaa National Park is at your doorstep, best explored on bicycle - good ones are readily available for rent at reception (12€ full day, 6€ half day). As noted by other travelers, the property seems to have a policy in place of trying their best to assign every guest a room/dorm of their own if they can, resulting in a de facto private room at the price of a dorm bed while still having the chance to mingle with fellow guests (if likeminded and so inclined) in the ample common room. The place is spotlessly clean, fresh linen and towels are provided, and staff at reception and the restaurant is multilingual, very welcoming and always ready to assist.

EstoniaIn shower rooms were no bodywash nor shampoo, i used hand soap. Restaurant opens at 12.00 and closes at 22.00. Normally checkout is at 12.00 so i couldn't breakfast comfortably.
Receptionists were pleasant and professional. Room i stayed was clean and pretty. Room i booked was big and comfortable. Hostel surroundings are great - beautiful manor and big garden. Ideal place to stay for this money.

EstoniaThe room actually didn't feel so clean, the floor was dirty, and I found some dust in the bed. Both times I was here in spring, the accommodation has been empty except for me, which is great but a bit scary at night. The beds aren't comfortable and quite old, but you get what you pay for.
This is my second stay and I love the place, the history and the staff here. All are absolutely perfect. Even though there's no kitchen, there's a toaster, boiler, and microwave in the common room for all basic needs. If you're lucky, you might get a room with the view to the manor itself, stunning! Most times, you might get a room to yourself only or to your group, so yay to privacy. Except for in winter, also offer bike rentals which is perfect for exploring the area.

United StatesThe property was beautiful. The hostel was very comfortable. We had the entire building to ourselves and we were given wood to make a fire so it was a cozy one night stay. We had breakfast across the yard at the hotel which was wonderful

1- There is a direct bus from Tallinn to Sagadi manor (bus 18V), very convenient for me. 2- I also rented a bike from the manor and visited some sights in the Lahemaa national park. 3- The manor is very beautiful and peaceful, and there are two museums in the manor, one is about the manor main building, and the other one is forest museum. Very nice exhibitions! 4- The restaurant is very worth visiting. I had the best fish soup there, and the deer meat was very exotic too. 5- The last but not least, the staff there are really friendly people. Very polite and warm. I would recommend this place to everyone.

FranceNothing. Wifi signal is bit weak, though. With walls as thick as they are, what else can you expect?
One of the best locations I have ever been in. The gardens and greenhouse were designed with a great deal of taste and are maintained with art and know how. The flower garden is a marvel. Next to the hostel, the stylish Sagadi manor makes the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel staff across the manor’s back gardens are very helpful and welcoming at any time. The breakfast being served in the hotel’s restaurant will keep you sound and safe on a hike or on a bike throughout the day until dinner time. The hostel itself is the icing on the cake: nice, roomy, comfortable and clean. Staying here is something of a privilege that comes at a minimal cost.

SwitzerlandDunno if that's positve or negative. There were a few other solo travellers, but everyone got their own dorm. So there was no interaction. I mean, it was very nice to give everybody the opportunity to have a private room, but when you book a dorm you might expect other people there too...

EstoniaThe only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is the bathroom smell - while the hotel, restaurant and manor building have clean bathrooms, it seems that the one in the hostel is not so well maintained.
Lovely building on the estate of Sagadi manor, bonus points that one wakes up to see the gorgeous pink manor in golden sunlight right from the window! It is an old Estonian building with that characteristic smell and vibe. The location was amazing, one can rent a bike from the manor and ride to Oandu where there are multiple nature trails, or the old fishing village of Altja. The bed is quite small but cozy.

NetherlandsThe curtains were to short and everything came through it. Next to that, it was cold in the room. Heating didn't work. Small beds and doors hard to close/open.
Best price in Estonia, you sleep in a dorm but we were the only ones so practically a own bedroom. Next to that, it was very clean.
